    Good Morning everyone!!
I'm planning on cracking the whip (at myself) this morning and getting the house back into shape. As such I'm afraid I've not read all the post - just the first and the higlighted on this page, so....
    Happy Anniversary Mr&Mrs Mix :D
PenPen - glad you found the tip usefull.... Cardiff may have more discounts - but I'm VERY jealous of your £10 voucher, I know exactly what I would spend it on too (Mr/Mrs Lakeland if you're listening please can I have one too :D)
Car cost me over £200 in repairs yesterday and so I'm worrying again whether the DMP is the way forward, but that's another story.
Found some fab bargains in WHSmiths yesterday - my favourite being a mickey mouse credit/debit card holder that is complete with a mini notebook and pen to track my spends, reduced from £5 to 99p :D
Queenie - I wandered into WHSmiths because I like the sound of your magazine (grow your own).... do you think it is worth the price? I think it's been over a year since I last bought a mag - possibly even two! I'm hoping to get an allotment this year - if not to grow loads in pots again. Do you think it would be helpfull? (Particularly like the idea of the wall chart as I was too late to grow pots last year)
Right, enough nattering from me, I'm off to play with my new toys (anti bac cloths from Lakeland.... they're lush!!!)

    January '06 Grocery Challenge (4th - 31st) £320.
    Week 1 - £73.99 Week 2 £5.10 (so far :p )
Someone burst my bubble and I lost the plot so no idea what I spent now... :(I will try to work it out.
    Other Jan :- Petrol £20.41, Clothes £8.50, House £3.

  • Morning all. Happy anniversary to Mr and Mrs Mix and (((hugs))) to seroxat chick (I have an evil MIL too) and anyone else who needs them.

Busy day today. need to give whole house a lick and a polish (not literally);)
Off to work in my friends shop from 12-3 then pick up dds from bus at 3.20. One of them has gymnastics at 4. They are twins and one has decided to do gym today and one Ballet tommorrow so today I get to spend time in the cafe with one while the other is in her class. I really enjoy this as with twins you rarely get time alone with either one.

Terrible nights sleep as I'm really worrying about my OH's business. It's make or break time as work is a little slow and customers have been really slow to pay so I am juggling money around and robbing peter to pay paul. OH is really either in denial or optimistic about the future but I am seriously concerned. It makes it worse that we now have an employee who must be paid. I can live on beans for a month but we can't ask him to:o
Sorry for the moan but OH had a failed business before and suffered a nervous breakdown so I guess I'm a little paranoid too.

Hope you all have a fab day

Been exhausted this week and unable to post much. I overdid it last week(s) and it caught up this week on top on a cold.:(

Taking it easy today as will be busy tomorrow.

The agent is taking her time and I am panicking she won't have it ready by Monday to sell. This place is driving me nuts and want to get on with selling! Feel everything is going wrong just to annoy me.

Had a wicked Burns supper last night

Veggie haggis, neeps and tatties with HM Whisky sauce
    Shortbread with Scottish coffee (whisky):D

We were going to have cranachan but there were no raspberries to be found anywhere! Maybe next week.

    Today

    Breakfast

Mixed juice, pink grapefruit mixed with M&S blackcurrant, red grape and pomegranite juice (got free with vouchers)
    Muesli
    Rose Pouchong tea

    Dinner

Pasta with reduced price tomato pasta sauce
    Rhubarb crumble

  • Morning :hello:

Happy Anniversary Mrs and Mr Mix have a lovely day.

Thank you for the many kind words re my Grandma yesterday. I'm amazed that she has bounced back ok and is now back home. I've now fixed up an appointment with Help the Aged on Monday for the neck pendant that seems to be the answer, I only hope she wears it! They are also 'phoning her once a day for a month, IF she can hear the 'phone

Quick whizz round with stardrops, then doing my parents shopping.

    Have a good day!!
Now thanks to Tommix & Queen Bear, now Lady Westy of Woodpecker :)

Morning all, SOOOOOOOOOOOOO cold! Its freezing even with the fire and the halogen heater on(all the boy cats are all curled up together on the sofa and look angelic(funny how apearences can be SO deceptive isn't it?) Annie and phoebe in bed and Lucy spraweled on other sofa. DH was kn@ckered when h got home from parents evening, it went well though. Horrible when hte alarm went off at 5:30 this morning though! Done al cat stuff, washed up and have preped some of the veg for tea.(finally getting round to using up the Quorn roast) so wil do roast parsnips(even I cant make parsnip sooup again!) mash, roasties, cauli and what ever else neds using. Was mad yesterday as wanted to get some ink for the printer but didn't manage to get any in WHS or ASDA. Have to pick it up in the morning. Maigh make the banana loaf today as didn't get round to it because of bad head on Wed. Am hungry so am going to make a nice pear, apple and grape smoothie and perhaps some toast. Happy anniversary to mr and mrs mix! Have a fantastic wekend Jelycat. Seroxat_Chick words fail me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a piece of work. My MIL is also a $*!"'@&^*% She tried to hit me at our wedding! and after the day (everybody had a really nice time)we were tod from various sources exactly what she had being saying, DH pulled her(they were vicious evil things that REALLY shocked us and everybody that heard them)and they have not spoken for 12 1/2 years now. No loss. One of the (less offensive)things that she said was that if she ever won the lottery she would spend the money on hiring a hit man.And meant every word. Hugs to everybody. Keep warm and stay safe.

Anniestar my mum threated the same thing regarding hitman for me!! I am not alone in the world of wierd in laws and parents!!
Talking of which MIL just phoned me (not the one who wants me dead thats my mum!) and has told me what we are all having for xmas as she has already bought them!!! She gets earlier every year! How the heck does she know what the kids will want in dec in jan!!!Arhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
Total agree with getting stuff in the sales but does she have to tell me what and how much it cost !!!!

Other than that, ds1 trip paid for after going to 3 different cash points as none were working before school, so kids were late!!And ds3 has forgotten his swim kit, so have to pop that in on way to fetch dd.Council tax paid and rent, money put aside for car tax and boys trip to see england under 21`s a week on tuesday.

I'm so addicted to showers that I haven't had a bath in about 12 years

Morning, I wondered what that smell was  Only joking BR :p I haven't either, I'm soooo addicted to showers as well!

Moggins, I agree with everyone else about the shower, sounds like you will save money and time in the long run. It can be hard to spend money when you're trying not to, I end up having these long discussions in my head about what to buy!

tinkerbell - Happy birthday for yesterday, sorry I missed it.

    mrs_mix - happy anniversary :T

Was supposed to be working from home yesterday and didn't get anything done, very bad :(

I met up with a friend yesterday afternoon and am still a bit shaken by it all. She is in lots of debt (40K), lives in rented accomodation and at present only has a part time job. Last year she had a family bereavement and her mum is going through breast cancer (it doesn't look good). She was talking about how she has planned to 'ckeck-out' and was asking me if I would look after her cats when she has gone. I begged her not to, but she said she couldn't promise me anything. I really don't know what to do, this morning I've emailed her and told her I and others really care and signposted her to this website and the DFW board. I cried so much after we met up as I can't bear the thought of losing her, but also know I'm not qualified to do anything. It is so diffiult, I really don't know what to do.

Sorry to go on and bring the thread down, really sorry. I so hope she find this website and finds it useful, but she really doesn't like to confide in anyone. She is so proud, I won't be able to see her again now for a few weeks.

Sorry again, must try get get back on OS discussion. Sorry for going off topic.

Today I'm going to pick up information from my solicitor on the flat I'm buying. I know I have to focus on the future, just for myself.

Hugs to all you guys out there, you are great :)
