Morning all! Just off to fetch the sticky............
Hi, this is today's Daily Thread. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Can't believe I'm first - that hasn't happened for ages :j
Had a great day yesterday (after I got to York, which took nearly 2 hours rather than the usual 40mins   ). Picked up several Freecycle items (long wooden ruler, biodegradable sacks, coat for DD, and brand new printer cartridge. Also dropped off a science kit to a lovely lady on a house boat.
Went to see my cousin and her new baby -took some everyday biscuits, which went down really well :T The baby's delicious
I forgot how small they are.
Then went into town, and was able to walk from her house. Bought some salmon from the fish market for tea tonight. Thanks for the tip about Lakeland, Kazonline! York has a few shelves, not a whole floor  but I got some card making bits for pennies, including a lovely set for weddings. We have 2 friends getting married in the summer, so this will be perfect for them.
Got home to find a £10 voucher from Lakeland  :T :j Was going to buy some storage jars online, so this is perfect timing.
Plans for today:
Have a great day, Penny. x

Morning PP ,kyle and everyone else who visits here. I have been up early after a bad nights sleep, partly due to my brain ticking over and also my 4 yr old ds who has a sore mouth. I think he has a mouth ulcer but he wont let me look to check!!The problem was that he sucks his thumb and his sore mouth prevented this.It might put him out of the habit as unlike a dummy i can hardly take his thumb away! I had bad news about my car which has been off the road for 3 weeks now. I have white smoke coming from the exhaust and the garage thought it was the turbo. They put a re-conditioned one in that i had got from ebay but its stilll smoking white. seems it is either head gasket or a cracked head. I know both are pricey and its money i dont have. I dont have much choice but to try and get the money together to fix it as another car would cost even more.Today i am hoping to meet my sister for a coffee.(we have 4 brothers as well) Tomorrow would have been our dear mums birthday and we simply cant let it pass without meeting and reminising about what a fab mum we had.(she passed away in may 2004 and we all miss her so very much)
On a brighter note, i cleaned up before going to bed last night so apart from a few breakfast things i will not be doing much until dinner/tea-time. Have a good day every-one and hugs to those who need one. Love Elaine“Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. BBBRRRRRRRRR It's cold this morning. Better than rain I guess. Work shortly, should be a good day. A long one, though. I should paint my daughters bedroom when I get in tonight. No Friday feeling as I have to work all weekend.
Still I am sure you all will have a good one.....NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
Morning PP, Kyle, elaine, n9eav and all who follow
Hope LO feels better soon elaine and that you get the parts you need for your car cheaply. Kyle hope you manage to get a full night's sleep soon. I don't know how you manage on so little sleep.
DD's team were knocked out in the first round yesterday - not surprising as they had only played one game as a team and were up against established teams. DD managed to save quite a few goals - as well as let a few in. She is now enthusiastic to keep playing so I may be joining those mums and dads who spend Sunday mornings on cold touchlines.
DS has a maths exam today and he has been studying lots for it this week as it has been worrying him. Fingers crossed he does well as maths isn't his strongest subject.
W**k today then rush to get home and get DS and DD packed for the weekend with their dad. I plan to do more clearing out and batch cooking.
Have a fab Friday everyone. x"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Morning everyone
Can't sleep this morning and I can only lie in bed so long tossing and turning so decided just to get up.
I have to wait in this morning as something is being delivered. The courier company that is bringing it is normally quite good and always come around the same time so at least not waiting around all day
Whilst I am waiting in I will give the kitchen a clean and tidy. And no doubt there will be some washing to be done
Have to pop to the bank (again). Came into the house yesterday after being at the bank and a cheque had come in the post. Also need to visit the post office to return a parcel.
This afternoon hope to go to the shops. Bought a pair of work trousers a couple of weeks ago that are too long so need to return. Also going to look for a pair of funky ear-muffs to help my poor ears in this chilly weather.
Well off for a browse.
Have a great start to the weekend.0 -
yesterday was a bit of a wasted day. felt a bit off, but went to town anyway. started feeling worse so cut it short, only did a small shop at asda and headed home. by time I got home was shivering and just couldnt get warm. ended up spending afternoon asleep under the duvet and woke up with a temperature.
feeling a bit stuffed up now but should be able to get some work done today.
off to library and then lots of studying to catch up.x x x0 -

morning!
am up early today due to a headache and the fact that I had to get DH and DS up as they are both NOT morning people!
DS had to run to catch his bus yesterday so will be making sure he's off a bit earlier today
DH needs time in the morning as his back condition leaves him stiff as a board first thing and he needs time to be able to stretch and get moving - poor thing he's usually in agony till he's got going.
Day off today:j lots of odd jobs to do as I'm working all weekend.
Good luck with the car Elaine!
Take care all xxx
see you later!;)Do what you love :happyhear0 -
morning :hello:
off to work soon, trying to get there earlier so I do some work before it gets busy
plan to spend the weekend de-cluttering, last weekend took 2 binbags of curtains to charity shop along with large suitcase of odds and ends, as well as filling 7 bags full of rubbish that was lying around, lots of out of date toiletries, too small (but unusable) kids clothes etc
