  • Morning all

My plans for the day include going into w**k for a few hours
(well 6 actually) then off to a friend's for dinner which should be good.

Have got a nasty coldsore that disappeared about 4 days ago, leaving horrible sore, cracked lips and has reappeared this morning - grrrrrrr - with even more cracked and sore lips... boy, I do look a treat!

Hope that everyone is warm and snuggly!

    Good Morning!

Seems a bit milder here today.
My nurse did call back yesterday and said that all the lymphoma consultants were out of the hospital, so she was unable to talk to them. However, she did say that it would be a good idea to put my complaint in writing about the way I was treated on Monday, as it's not the first time she's had feedback like mine.
I got all my jobs done yesterday that I wanted to, plus I managed to clean DS2's footie boots too.
Just after tea, MIL arrived and screamed and shouted at me for half an hour - just what I needed. Fortunately, hubby stuck up for me. Unfortunately, the kids witnessed it all. When she left, DS1 called her a b*tch(!), and DS2 wanted to know if this meant he wasn't going to get a birthday present from her. I was shaking from head to foot when she left  . At the end of the day, the person who's going to come off worse is her, as now her grandkids have seen a very ugly side to her. I could go on, but I shall refrain - I'm sure plenty of you have your own family problems without reading about mine! ;)

This morning, I've got two of my work friends coming round to see me. I love their visits - I have to keep abreast of the gossip!
Don't know if I'll get much cleaning done today.
Organic pork chops, broccoli, cauli and new pots for tea.

    Have a fab day everyone!

How awful for you - (((big hugs)))

As you say, she will be the one suffering in the end.
    An average day in my life:hello: :eek::mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T :o :rotfl: :rotfl: :p :eek::mad: :beer:

    Moggins

Get the shower if you possibly can! With 4 Dds in the house the shower has saved us so much time and fussing around!

Just wish DH would stop announcing in public that he "has not had a bath in years!" While I know that he is in the shower every day the general public do not.

Have a chicken in the slow cooker which I will de bone once it has cooled and can then use it for several recipes.

DH took me to Lidl yesterday and I stocked up with cans of tomatoes, tinned veg, meat and fruit. Bags of rice and pasta, bread flour, plain flour and stock cubes etc.

    All cupboards are full.

Don't know why but have a feeling that there will be some sort of disruption in food supplies soon - either strikes or petrol shortages or something.

Had a look at www.fluwiki.com and it certainly made me think - as did avian flu talk.com. It is scary how much avian flu is around and it is not being reported in newspapers outside the countries concerned. About ten of them!

Hugs to everyone feeling poorly - need to hang washing out once machine finishes.

Thanks everyone, you really are lovely. She doesn't like to answer the phone, I think emails are a good idea. I so hope she doesn't 'check-out' what an awful phrase :( I know she is suffering from depression, having been there it is very very difficult. Hopefully she finds her way to DFW - I said there was also humour on those boards, many are complete stars and positive people, such as Southern Scouser :)

haribojunkie - you're worries are not insignificant! Everyone can talk on here about lots of different things which is really good.

Sorry again to burden you all, you are great :)

We have heard from the agents handling our property that the landlord wants to put the rent up by £125 a MONTH.............to say I am angry is putting it mildly...............we get nothing done, we had to beg to get a new bathroom window last year..........this is a rise too far I really do not know what we are going to do. I am trying to pay back some loans we took out, I have 2 years to go before they are finished no way can we afford to pay that amount extra. We will not get a rise in Housing benefit, we live in a 2 bedroom house, and as pensioners we are deemed to only need one bedroom, so they cut back our allowence for that, so we are on the maximum we can get.....I phoned the council yesterday for form to fill in but we will be at the bottom of the pile especially as we want one specific development which is close to where we are Doctors etc......

Not happy bunny at all..OH is just no help at all, so it will all fall on me as usual..................

Supposed to be going to a friends this afternoon, not sure if I will go now....
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.

csarina, how awful, poor you. Maybe going to a friends will help as you can have someone to talk about it with? Is it against the law to put up rent like this? I wonder if there are any 'experts' who can help on other threads?
