((((((((((((((((mushypeas))))))))))))) There's not really much you can do except be a shoulder if she wants to talk.

Annie I do love hearing about your cats. I wouldn't be without mine, they provide so much love and fun without having to go walkies :D

Seroxat Chick - this really is the last thing you need right now and I'm glad your DH stuck up for you. I could sort out a hitman if you like. DH works with some very dodgy characters :D

Shopping with parents went okay. Mum has bought DS a pair of pyjamas which he badly needed. He's now nearly 6 foot tall but extremely skinny with it. It's strange how you never notice them growing until you have to stand on tiptoe to kiss them goodnight :D

I think I pulled some chinese pork steaks out of the freezer for tea tonight. I will have to go and double check now they have defrosted.

    Afternoon All

((Hugs)) to anybody having a bad day, especially Mushypeas and Csarina.

Having a rotten one myself, my cat got hit by a car this morning so I've had a trip to the vets, they have just phoned to say that hes going to be ok thank god but it was a horrible shock when he came limping in with all his paws bleeding. He also has a large cut in his tail so will have to wear a lampshade collar for awhile. I'm feeling really shacken and dd is really upset that we had to leave him at the "cat dr" we can go and get him at 4pm apparently.

I'm going to have to redo the budget again to pay for this aswell as the boiler bill. TBH I'm questioning whether we are doing the right thing throwing all our spare cash at the last of our debts as when things like this happen it just throws everything out so much. I might get a coffee and try and work out a repayment plan that allows us to save alittle every month for emergencies.

Thanks for listening to my moans

(((((((((((((joannasmum))))))))))))) at least !!!!! is going to be okay. My darling Star got hit on our wedding day, 4 days at the vets hospital and they decided he wasn't going to be okay (his bladder was perforated) so they had to put him to sleep, he passed away on my lap still purring his head off like he always did.

Re the budget, I know what you mean, after christmas we had £300 left in the savings account and I threw most of it at the debts. Now the opportunity to have the shower fitted has come up for £300 and I no longer have it :(

    Afternoon all

Not read all the posts yet, so hugs to those who need them, especially joannasmum and spendless

Well I've been to w**k (I'm a music teacher in a secondary school) and today I had 3 year 7 classes in a row. Last week we watched a shortened version of the opera Carmen so today they were putting together a short version of part of it, including acting & singing. It was absolutely hysterical, especially when they were pretending to be Matadors, or 2 boys being Carmen and her lover :rotfl: Must borrow a video camera for next week's performances!

OK, need to get changed before I collect the DDs from school. We're off to try the Music Centre tonight, so DH has agreed to pick up fish & chips on the way home :j as I won't have time to cook. Next week, I'll be better organised, but we all need a treat once in a while.

    Happy Friday everyone

    Hello everybody

joannasmum - Glad to hear that your cat will make a full recovery. There are always more important things in life than money. (Whispers quietly on a moneysaving site!)

boysmum3 - Welcome to OS. I do more lurking than posting on this board but everybody is so friendly that sometimes you can't help joining in! :o

Also happy anniversary to Mrs (and Mr!) Mix. :)

Had a quiet day today. No motivation to do much. I've sent the OH out to Tesco with a handful of vouchers! (He wasn't too impressed!) Have also been offered a mystery shopping job next week. I won't really make any money after making a special journey but I enjoy doing them and I can do it on my day off so it's no hardship.

Best wishes to everybody else for the rest of the day. xx

    Hi again :hello:

Back from court - the case finally finished at around noon. It was a drugs case, the defendant had pled guilty to possession, but not guilty to intent to deal. The evidence was very sketchy so we had to find him not guilty. I was the foreperson of the jury and was bricking it at the thought of having to annouce the verdict! I'm not volunteering for foreperson again!

Anyway I was released from court as soon as the case was finished and I don't have to go back in on Monday - I have to call up on Monday afternoon to see if I will be needed again on Tuesday morning. Who knows, I might be in the office all of next week and not have to go back at all

MushyPeas - I knew somebody would make that comment about baths :p On a more serious note, your friend sounds in a really bad way, I hope she finds the DFW board ok, there are so many threads on there where people have basically been brought back from the brink of suicide! ((((hugs))))

    ((((hugs)))) also to csarina.

Shez - thanks for nice comments about my flat :D The table is fine - I don't have a spanner the right size to tighten up the legs properly, but Dad is bringing one over when he comes round tomorrow with some other things. Not quite true that I only have pint glasses :p:D - but I do have five pint glasses and only 2 juice glasses, and both my juice glasses were in the wash... still are, in fact... I'm sure I must have enough for a full DW load now so must put it on this afternoon (being on my own I usually only need my (small) DW on every 2 days or so, but I'm definitely glad I bought it - I hate washing up!)

One of my pint glasses is currently in use as a vase, as I don't own one and I got some really pretty tulips half price (£1) at Tesco the other day!

Blimey seroxat chick and others, some of you have REALLY bad luck of the draw when it comes to in-laws!

joannasmum - glad puss is OK, might it be worthwhile taking out a pet insurance policy for the future? A little extra expense every month in return for so much less worry...

    Must be off

    Rzl xx

I know exactly what you mean! DD now has to bend down to kiss me. I told her this morning that she'll soon be kissing me on the top of my head!

I'm taking Flylady's instructions and having some *me-time* with my needlepoint. DH is making me a cup of tea to go with it. Hope he can find a slice of Christmas cake, too.
