  • I've spent my lunchtime online looking at fridge/freezers, both new and on ebay. I'm thinking that maybe we could get a new one. :o I've seen one for £230ish, I could take some money from emergency fund, then use OHs extra money from being back to normal hours for 3 weeks and then we'd have enough.

I know we're on a DMP and I know you can get one from ebay, (I still can't get onto freecycle)......or am I just been 'snobby' by wanting a new one.:(

Can't believe I am fretting over a fridge/freezer, get a grip woman. :rotfl:

I would put it down to him being of the male persuasion as my experience is that they just do things without thinking, although I know there are good ones out there too. Hope the receiver of the paperwork and money is honest and acknowledges its receipt.

  • Have you checked ebay for arg0s and other stores on there for fidge/freezer? I got my mums one for her on there last year and it was brand new and free delivery too as it was through the shop but they often put stuff on there they are trying to get rid of? Also before buying check cashback sites you might find a voucher or a good deal? xx

  • I've had a look at the 'shops' on ebay for a fridge/freezer in my lunch, got a couple that look promising. Will study them a bit more tonight.....I'm such a party animal these days. :rotfl:

Yesterday we paid for DS3s swimming. Also went to sburys and spent £43, which included £6 on birthday cake, £3 air freshner, £34 on food.

Will also give DS £25 for his birthday.........he needed some jeans which were £40 so we said we'd give the money to put towards instead of buying the actual jeans.

OH also put £8 petrol in DS1s car yesterday.

Still only on 7 NSDs. :(

  • Thanks mummy, I can't believe how stressed out I'm getting over a fridge/freezer.:o Still can't decide what to do, I did call up yesterday about 3 that were in our local paper but they'd already gone. Have found a new one on ebay (thanks DFW321) for £150ish. It's a real pain only having a fridge now so need to sort something out soon!

Yesterday was LSD as we had chips from the chippy for tea after football, just 2 portions of chips to share and I cooked some chicken. So still on 7 NSDs.

The good news is that the company we/OH sent 'cash' to have confirmed receipt of the payment....phew! The only thing is the paperwork that are doing takes upto 20working days and we need it next week or as soon as. Nothing is ever straight forward. I'm going to send them another email pleaded for a speedy response as DS needs to sort his visa out.

Have called up about the 'roadside assistance' quote, have taken DS3 off as I'm covered for any car and got 25% off. Takes the yearly cost down to £48.

Also called about the dog insurance, we can take the 'cheaper' option which has less vets cover and not as many added extras for £157 per year, saving about £40 per year.

I've pegged out too this morning.:D We're going to the St Georges celebrations in our local park today, free entry so spends should be kept to a minimum. Only me, OH and DS3 going, DS2 going to a football match, DS1 is at work. Have got loads of bread to feed the ducks too.

Need to do a meal plan and will call into sburys/butchers/a1di on the way home.

Heating has been off all week.:D

Update on pots, 20p pot upto £46.80, £2 pot upto £64.

Hope everybody has got some sunshine.xx

  • well done on all those savings! I'm not sure what cover we have for Duke on the pet insurance but i only pay £7 something a month. I take it it must go up every year  I never really thought about it until you just said how much yours was!

I went through a cashback site for the car cover and got a good deal there (think was £29.99 with cashback) ...

Those shops on ebay are good, I was told they put on overstock or old stock so sell at a good price usually so worth checking out :)

Have a lovely evening, sun is still shining here but a bit nippy with the wind  ! xx

  • DFW321, I'm going get some comparisions on the dog insurance, I heard it goes up due the age of the dog too. That's a really good deal on the car cover.....will check that out as well. :)

We've had a lovely day. We only spent £2 at the St Georges celebrations and that was for DS3 to have a go at the archery. We kept well away from the bouncy castle, trampolines and donkey rides. We parked at the out of town shopping centre and then walked back to the park to save on having to get a carpark ticket.....and I need the exercise.:(

I then walked into town to the £1 shop and got some toothpaste, tins of soup, hair combs and some hair stuff. Walked back to the out of town shopping centre and spent £54 in sburys, didn't make it to the butchers or A1di today. Will have to get bread and milk in the week (now we are short on fridge/freezer space.:().

We had our tea in the sburys cafe, £9 for 3 of us, (50% of fish and chips after 3.30pm.:)). I thought is was quite a bargain. DSs 2 and 3 had eaten whilst they'd been out. So when we got back we attempted to tidy the garden a bit.

The weather has been fab today and I've caught the sun. I've got that warm but cold feeling, like I've been at the beach. All in all it's been a good day and me and OH have got on great, bit like old times........perhaps it's because we only had 1 child with us, who was on his best behaviour, not a tantrum in sight.:rotfl:
