Oh Alice, just catching up with your diary. Big hug re the relationship problems. Money is a real brick wall in relationships sometimes but lovely to know that you are working towards resolving both the lack of money and the difficulties between you.
Keep smiling and looking to the future.
By the way, do you know if the friends who invited you to go on holiday are totally solvent with no worries? We only know what others want us to. They may be in a similar position. Life isn't always as rosy on the inside
Thank you pixnmix, I'm hopeful we'll get there.
You are right, I have no real idea of our friends financial situation (not that I'm being nosey or anything!;)). All we see is new cars, new this, new that, I know when I said we didn't have CCs anymore there were some surprised/horrified faces and we've told our friends we were working on a cash only basis (didn't tell them about our DMP) as we are saving for an extension........a little white lie.

We went to C0stco today, DS1 gets his supplement from there and we will run out of catfood next week. Spent £33 on food, plus cat food, batteries and toilet roll and had a snack whilst we were there.
Got back, started to put the food away to find the fridge/freezer in the garage has turned itself off again, ggrrrr! Hopefully the temperature will start to go up again soon. Have sorted meal plan to use bits in the freezer first.
Went upstairs to sort the washing out and I thought I'd have a lie on the bed, pulled the quilt over me and ended up having a 2hour nap. I can't remember the last time I did that, although I do feel a lot better for it.:)
Me and OH have had a good day. He's back on normal hours next week so as we've just about managed on the reduced hours (although the break in council tax and water rates helped!) I'm going to try and put the 'extra' money in the savings pot for a holiday, on our own as a family not with friends. If DS1 does go to America this would be our last family together (for a while anyway) so it is an even bigger incentive for us to save.

I've just nipped on here before I do the ironing.
Have done meter readings and we are now £84 in credit, so we have used £43 worth of gas and electric in 12 days. Will try and keep the heating off as much as poss next week but it of been on all day today....eek!
Everybody has chipped in with the house work so I'm going to do ironing whilst DS2 and DS3 do their homework. Sausage and mash for tea......not quite a sunday roast thanks to the freezer but still tasty!

Well that's monday out of the way.:D
Freezer still switched off, it now only has bread and frozen veg in it but neverless its still a pain. If this cold spell continues we will have to bring it into the hall or dining room.
We've had the heating on for a few hours this afternoon, its off now and the temperature has really dropped. OH did mention the pump was making a 'bit of noise' when he came home, he switched the heating off and then on again and it wasn't quite as noisey. Mind you the boiler is due a service in April so will ask about it when they come to do the service.
Get loads of washing hanging around trying to dry but for the moment no ironing.
Have wrapped the items I sold on fleabay this weekend, only made pennies but every bit helps. Will post tomorrow.
I think I've had 9NSDs but tomorrow will be a spend day, need to post parcels, we need butter and tissues too.
I'm on holiday next week, need to find some free things to do with the kids (apart from make a snowman:rotfl:), get quotes on the chimney and we need a new fuse box (still got the old 'wire' type), and need to sort service on boiler.
OH has had a letter from Bcard saying he is due for a review and they have been unable to contact Stepchange so could he call them...........OH going to call Stepchange tomorrow and see what they say.

Thanks granny, by the time OH got to call them they had closed. Hopefully he'll try again to tomorrow.
I have a right stinking cold aka 'man flu', wonder if thats why I needed that nap??.:(
Posted fleabay parcels on the way home, still waiting for 1 more person to pay.
Called into sburys to get butter, tissues, milk, stuff for lunches, more fruit, pizzas for DS1 as he's got a friends round for a study day tomorrow........and another Easter Egg, thanks to some bright spark at work that decided it would be great to have an 'Easter Lucky Dip charity thing' I needed to get an egg worth £4-£5 (haven't spent that much on the kids!!) to take in to work tomorrow....ggrrr. Also bought a sledge (half price) which was OHs idea and I was feeling too rough and tired to argue, probably won't get any more snow now.....Spent £33!!
Needed petrol but only put £6 in to last until Thursday.
Should really of done some ironing tonight, perhaps it would of helped to keep the house warm, switched the heating off at 7 now its quite cold in here.:(
Think I'll got to bed early, can't be doing with OH shouting at the footie on the TV.......:o

Morning Alice,
£4-5 on the charity easter egg  its a really nice thought but I think you should have been able to contribute what you felt appropriate. Im sure the kids receiving the eggs would be most grateful for anything!
Awwww DS will love his sledge, we bought 2 pink ones just after DD2 was born and they are still going strong. Hope DS's lasts aslong!
Hope youre feeling better today.
Ps cant be doing with men shouting at the TV !!!!!!!!!! xxMummytogirls x0
