No children, I guess that makes a difference. Christmas as an occasion just doesn't really have any meaning for me, whilst I enjoy the time off work I don't believe in Christ, and I'm not a pagan either.0 -
I tend to put them up a week or so before christmas day - have always taken them down on the 6th JanI don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

When I decorated the house, 12 days before Christmas and it was usually down before New Year. I hate Christmas and hate decorations even more. The majority of the time they look tacky and disgusting. This year to my great joy, we don't have the room for a tree, with the pram being delivered etc and all the baby things we have no room for it would look ridiculous. The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0

You have a pram being delivered?
Give it 2 or 3 years - your now belly bean will be wanting all sorts of xmas nonsense decorations... you're a tougher mum than me if you can resist your first born begging for a tree, plus he/she will have all sorts of special home made deccies - at which point you just give up, let them decorate the tree, and think about how you will miss their enthusiasm once they grow up a bit....
No you really will miss it......I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

Erm, 1st december usually. Might be sooner. Depends if Mrs Alias gets bored and gets them out.
Bit of a problem though, little one likes to pull the tree so have to secure it to the wall.0 -
I haven't put up a tree or decs for years now, it all began when I moved into a new place & I'd just decorated so there was no way I was going to ruin things with all that tat. I suppose it's nice if you've got kids though. Oh & my tree always seemed wonky & I'd end up watching that instead of the TV every night. The decorations would be on then off ..... Then there was the time I walked miles with a tiny little real tree, finally got it home, dressed it beautifully then discovered it had bugs! :eek:0

I just remembered last year thanks to grabbit I went to homebase and bought two trees for £2 each great big ones, OH kept saying what is the point to two as we have no room to put both up but for £2 each I am buying them:rotfl::D
It will be nice to see this year what they look like up, 42 days to go until xmas day:j:D0 -
I want to put mine up 1st December but my boyfriend says this is far too early and it will have to be 2 weeks before Christmas

I'm *planning* on the 1st of December until Twelfth Night. I like to enjoy the festive environment for as long as possible.0
