yes that sounds abit like me - I want to take it down on boxing day! But this year I seem very anxious to get it up! not sure if this is a do it while I can panic message to myself (because I will be to busy in December?)

As much as I love Christmas, and all related decorations, I think November 6th is a bit too early... The first weekend in December is when things go up around here, I think that's early enough!

    Too early now! :rotfl:

I put mine up first weekend in December and they come down on.... 26th.... because by then it's all over and I've had enough of them already!

I put mine up the weekend before Christmas and they come down on the 5th January. I'd happily do it on Christmas Eve and have a proper 12 days, but they tell me i'm miserable :)

I put mine up the Sunday before Christmas (this is a compromise with DH & DD - I would prefer to put it up Christmas Eve and they would prefer Dec 1st!) and they come down January 2nd.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Absolutely nothing at all before advent starts...NOTHING. If I had a child I'd be happy to start prep as Advent begins. We have a real tree, so anything in advance of the week before christmas would be a PITA because we'd be clearing up needles the whole time. we usually leave our tree/any decorations up till the 11th or twelth day though....we love the tree, and its always sad when it goes, but go it has to.
  • 1st weekend in december for us ,some people around here have had them up since last week
