our tree is put up the second weekend in December and comes down about the 2nd, if it was up to me it would be up a few days before Christmas

OH thinks I am miserable but I hate not being able to do a proper clean when the tree and decorations are out and it makes me feel manky even though you cant see the dust

Ours go up on the first December. I take a day off work to go and buy a real tree and decorate it before the DH and DS get home so they get a surprise - also in the anal about the decorations being evenly spaced club :)

They come down on the 26th. One year they even came down on the afternoon of the 25th :) as we were going away to visit relatives and wanted to come home to a fresh tidy house that was ready to face the new year.

Ours goes up on 11th December as it's youngest DD's birthday :) The tree & decs come down around 2nd or 3rd of January. This year may be a bit different though as DH & I will be in Beijing until mid December so unless my daughters put the tree & decs up, it'll wait until we get home. DH & I move to Beijing early January so will probably take tree & decs down a day or so earlier than usual.
  • Our's goes up on the 19th November, it is my nephew's birthday and we have always done this. Quite a sad time now as he commited suicide last year and this would be his 21st birthday:( Last year my sister and me decided we were not going to put any decs up as he had only been gone a couple of months, we both dreamt on the same night that he was stood before us saying "where is my Christmas tree" needless to say we both put them up pretty sharp!

I think it will be 11th December this year, second Sunday. I always really look forward to putting the tree etc up, but can't do with them up for too long. They always come down 1 Jan and I do a big clean and clear out before I go back to work. I love how the house feels bigger when it's all gone :)

We don't bother with tree or decs, and we don't usually do presents either. Are we weird?

Ours will be going up around the 13th/14th, as my Mum died on the 12th so it never goes up before that. It comes down on the 2nd January so that I can get the sitting room cleaned thoroughly before I go back to work!
