1st weekend in december for us ,some people around here have had them up since last week

Is it too early?Seriously?I can't believe people have them up already! Surely they get bored by actual christmas and need to "redo" the decs a billion times??
We put ours up the first weekend in december after I clean the entire house...always have to have a pristine house then the tree etc looks much nicer.I'm 32 weeks pregnant at the mo with three young kids in the house so me and hubby started the cleaning today with a ruthless playroom + binbag session :p
Hubby does all the outside lights and we have a 7ft tree in the living room,4ft tree in the playroom,3ft in DS' and DDs room plus one outside. We LOOOOVE christmas :xmastree:

  • goes up 30th november, down on 3rd january. though this year that could change as theres only me and my younger brother until just before xmas, and all the decs are in the loft and shed, and i dont do spiders. so when the rest of the family come back, they can do it. or ill just buy new ones to replace the ones too far in spider territory.

  • Having just looked at the calendar i reckon we'll be putting ours up on the last day of term 16th Dec and proabably come down early Jan, never specify a date just when I give DH a kick up the bum in early January!

But this year it might be a few days earlier as the kids are slightly older now and have a lot more understanding, they will be just 5 and nearly 4! Magical age for xmas.

Usually the week before Christmas while the children are still at school. I take a day off in the last week of term and do everything while they are at school so they get a nice surprise when they come home :)

and I can be anal and put everything in the correct place :o

They come down on the 2nd or 3rd January.
Here I go again on my own....

They normally go up the first weekend in December in our house. All down to dh this year as I will be heavily pregnant with twins by then and have no intention of climbing ladders to hang decs up.

Will be closely supervising the tree being done as hubby did it one year as a surprise for me and it looked like he had stood at the other end of the room and thrown decs at it. I am a tad fussy about my xmas tree, will likely have a hormonal fit if it looks carp!

Will probably put it up mid December and will be down by New Years Eve. I like a clean and tidy house to welcome in the New Year.
