In the home of a colleague of my husband, their tradition is that they put the tree up when they see the Coca-Cola Santa Advert on TV for the first time each year as that, to them, means Christmas has officially arrived :D

But that's November, nowhere near christmas ... mine aren't up yet!

Always stick to tradition so same here
  • Ours go up 12 days before Xmas (for the kids) and, following old tradition, come down again at Candlemass.
  • Don't bother with any decorations.

  • Still not got a tree yet, don't think my daughter will let me get away with for too much longer though. My boy didn't seem too bothered last night though.

I don't do it, but if I did, it would be as we did when I was a child: Christmas Eve bring in the greenery, holly, ivy etc after house been cleaned, tree decorated tea-time Christmas Eve. Down again 6th January.

I do the tree on the 22nd in the evening because the parents come over on the 23rd in the morning and my mum would be extremely unhappy if there was no tree :rotfl: I'd happily do without it otherwise. They leave on the 27th and the first thing I do once they're out of the door is chuck all the baubles and stuff back in their box :p
Now free from the incompetence of vodafail
