sazz posted R's detais to http://www.boardingkennelssadberge.co.uk/sem-boardingkennelsmiddlesbrough.html?refcd=go87159653s&tsacr=GO5695291769 They haven't appeared as a dog lost.0

Which suggests that either he's trapped somewhere, he's out of the search district, or someone has taken him in.
People aren't looking for a Lab on a lead.
I refused to believe that someone had him, as had I found him, I would have taken all steps to trace his owner.
However, someone with a dog in their garden without a collar, hungry enough to eat the bird food, may have mistakenly thought he'd been turfed out and now they don't want to give him up. What does anyone else think?
Just thinking aloud here, but an old dog with a lump, spells Vet care. Would they then take him in to their home?
I think someone knowledgeable might, someone perhaps who'd had an old dog in the recent past.
sazz, last time he took off, he was found eight miles away. How far are the heather hills from you?
I wrack my brain, as I know all the posters do, and apart from him being trapped somewhere, I can only think of changing the tone of the appeal.
That is to one of, "has a dog moved next door to you since 05/11/11?
Very intrusive, as you are obviously part of a very close community, but I'm sure they would understand.
When I got my adoptee, the neighbours nor the Vet questioned it. In fact the Vet said "well done you." I could have stolen him or taken him in, no one checked.
Tomorrow sazz, you will not only have another pair of eyes, but a second brain. That is, one who knows what R thinks and does, the insight from your OH will be invaluable. Not to mention the renewed strengh he'll bring to you. Keep the strength sazz.
Whether we post or not, we are all rooting for the big R homecoming.
I can see where you are coming from pad, I have to oddest bunch here sometimes. My lad of course is known by everyone, but like today I have a little boy with us. he could belong to anyone and no one ever asks me why I have these little extra visitors staying with us, nor do they comment when they are never seen again.
So it is possible.
Maybe once sean starts calling our lad just might decide its time to show himself.

Me to Pad me too. I keep trying to think of ideas that we havnt tried, and the ones we have.
But liek a few others I stil think he is nearer than we think and that he is ok. Dont ask me how or why I feel this, I just do.
I woke up in the small hours this morning and had a feeling wash over me. I am not into this sort of thing believe me, but this feeling was so strong.
Sazzy is Sean hoem early tomorrow or late? Whatever time I know he will be tired so dont worry if you havnt time to check in here with us, we will understand so dont worry.

Thanks both. I've to pick him up from Inverness airport at 9 tomorrow night. He's on his way to Kuala Lumper at the moment, with a 7 hour layover-then onto London Heathrow.
Please..PLEASE, stop saying you feel useless. How I would have got through the last couple of weeks without all of your support and encouragement- I don't know. You have done everything-and more- to help Ruars. I didn't dream when I contributed to Jojos thread that this would happen, I certainly didn't expect the sheer volume of help I have received. It was, and is, quite simply, the most generous giving of spirit I have ever received.
I admit I was a cynical cow before this, more an animal person than a people person-but please believe I'm not exaggerating when I say that my faith in people has been restored. My friends say it's changed me. I'm kinder.
I could say so much more- but there I go-rambling again.Ruaridh Armstrong-missing since 05/11/11. Come home old boy-we miss you x
If you can't stand behind our troops, please feel free to stand in front of them.
I will respect your opinions, even if I don't agree with them0 -
Talking to a neighbour today, she's had her dog 4 years, I hadn't realised she'd found him in the park.
The DW asked her to keep him if possible, until he was claimed. He never was, so stayed with her.
She had a dim view of rescue centres and believed he might even be put down if she didn't keep him.
I'm really becoming convinced this has happened with Ruaridh - someone's taken him in and is looking after him. Maybe someone who doesn't go out much and is still unaware of the search for him?0 -
... I didn't dream when I contributed to Jojos thread that this would happen, ....
Meh, it's Ruaridh's thread.
I reckon he's still around - I assume you have council flats in the area with older tenants and areas where homeless people sleep - odds are that someone all on their own all the time has taken him in as someone to talk to.
In my neck of the woods, Croydon (how coincidental is that?) there's always a chance of an animal turning up out of the blue - even round the town centre area, you can get stray dogs and cats living up the hill in St Peter's churchyard, as it's quiet, a little wild and there are plenty of water sources, it's sheltered, warm and there are often homeless people prepared to share their food and blankets with any four legged wanderer.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -

I dreamt last night that a Yellow Lab puppy was brought home from France as a gift.
He had no hair across his saddle though, like a Poodle.
He was lovely, but nowhere to be seen this morning.0
