Good luck Sazzy, I really wish I could be there to help you search. Some days I wake up Grumpy ... Other days I let him lie in.0

You know you said the neighbours near the Croy garden possible sighting had a lot of dogs - have you checked they haven't actually taken Ruaridh in?0
-
Have you already had something in the Northern Scot Sazzy? Was just thinking when I read it last night that there wasn't anything in and didn't know if there had been in last weeks as didn't get itTrying very hard to be frugal and OS - just plodding on and doing my best!
:money: :money: :money:0 -
Thanks all.
I emailed the Northern Scot, but no one got back to me.
Zaksmum- Yes, the guy next door breeds boxers-and he's been one of the main forces in Croy in the search. He was brilliant last week when I spoke to him.
I've been out there again today, but no sightings or anything-and they're all still looking for him.
I'm starting to feel very disheartened now. I went into the butcher for some things and a bone for Bruce, and the butcher said, 'you've not found the old man yet then, or you'd be having a big 'un and a little 'un' He was flabbergasted that Ruars had simply vanished. Said he and his wife talk about it often. Just sagged where I stood.
As I was walking back to the car, loads of people stopped me and asked if he'd been found yet, and they were always on the lookout- which was nice of them. But it's as if he's vanished into thin air! I just don't know what to do now.Ruaridh Armstrong-missing since 05/11/11. Come home old boy-we miss you x

A late hello, we went to pick up a little chap who is going to his forever home tomorrow and got stuck on the M1 due to an accident. What should have taken us 90 mins took us 5 hours.
My lad was fed up, and the poor little chap we picked up didnt have a clue what was happening to him. He is now sat on hubbies knee having cuddles.
I know its strange for him. But this time next week, and after a week of love from his new humummy he will be fine.
Right I am going ot have a catch up on the posts here and in FB then check my emails.
Sazzy good luck today, I am with you in mind and spirit xxxxxxRIP TJ. You my be gone, but never forgotten. Always in our hearts xxxHe is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog.You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion.0 -
Sazzy, (((hugs))) firstly.
Do you have a map of the area that you have marked the sightings on, and posters you've put up, also where you've leafleted (sp)? I realise that it'll be a very busy map, especially if you put on it where people have searched already, but it may point out an area that you have overlooked.
So sorry Ruaridh's not home yet, not long before Sean is though.Good enough is good enough, and I am more than good enough!:j
If all else fails, remember, keep calm and hug a spaniel!0 -

People aren't looking for a Lab on a lead.
I refused to believe that someone had him, as had I found him, I would have taken all steps to trace his owner.
However, someone with a dog in their garden without a collar, hungry enough to eat the bird food, may have mistakenly thought he'd been turfed out and now they don't want to give him up. What does anyone else think?
Just thinking aloud here, but an old dog with a lump, spells Vet care. Would they then take him in to their home?
I think someone knowledgeable might, someone perhaps who'd had an old dog in the recent past.
sazz, last time he took off, he was found eight miles away. How far are the heather hills from you?
I wrack my brain, as I know all the posters do, and apart from him being trapped somewhere, I can only think of changing the tone of the appeal.
That is to one of, "has a dog moved next door to you since 05/11/11?
Very intrusive, as you are obviously part of a very close community, but I'm sure they would understand.
When I got my adoptee, the neighbours nor the Vet questioned it. In fact the Vet said "well done you." I could have stolen him or taken him in, no one checked.
Tomorrow sazz, you will not only have another pair of eyes, but a second brain. That is, one who knows what R thinks and does, the insight from your OH will be invaluable. Not to mention the renewed strengh he'll bring to you. Keep the strength sazz.
Whether we post or not, we are all rooting for the big R homecoming.0 -
Thanks again.
Mrs A, I've done the triangulation thing, that's why I went far out this morning. Unfortunately, there's a lot of it thick woodland. But I usually stop for a bit and call him at various bits. All the vets in Inverness, Forres, Elgin and inwards have his picture and know to call me immediately if someone brings him in (if, indeed he is with someone)
I don't know where the heather hills are. There's a load of moorland over Culloden way, and I've been there.
As you say, Seans home tomorrow night, and he might come up with somewhere else. We're doing the river walk on Monday, starts here and goes as far as goodness knows-but as far as is walkable anyway. Went down the harbour and beach this afternoon, Bruce had a great time digging holes, and running in circles. I stood on top of the dunes and just looked as far as I could either side.
Just looking at the vastness of the moors, cairns and woods, it just seems so bl00dy hopeless sometimes. But if my boy is out there, I'm going to find him.Ruaridh Armstrong-missing since 05/11/11. Come home old boy-we miss you x
