Again, thanks all, so very much.
Bruce has been squidged beyond belief this week Nod- but he just got another one. No- no treatment for anything. He's as fit as a flea, with no signs of demetia or anything.
Maty- I readily admit that if it hadn't been for the support I have received from MSE, I wouldn't have got this far, I would have given up days ago, and when I start to feel like giving up- I read something else and it spurs me on
Ali, it was at different times of the day the possible sightings were. In fact-I'm just back from there with Brucie, we looked under the caravans and in the bushes leading to the beach. It's a popular dog walking area-right on the beach, so it might have been someone elses doggie running about but, I've still got to try. Someone else called me and suggested that, just getting some hot drinks and going down to sit there, so today, I'm going to do just that. I'm going to spend a bit of time down at the caravan park, and some time sitting at a bit of the river which I had a strong feeling about-don't ask me why. I just do.
My best friend is coming over, so she will be here to sit with Brucie for a while. I want to concentrate on Ruars, or maybe I should take him? I don't know- don't want him to get bored while I'm sitting there.
MSE, got me hitting the ground running. I will be eternally grateful for that. Thank youRuaridh Armstrong-missing since 05/11/11. Come home old boy-we miss you x

I would leave Bruce at home if you can.:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0 -
Sazzy
just a daft idea but you have another dog can you get hold of a tape recorder (omg showing age)
and tape him barking, put it on ipod or portable player and take it to caravan site and play it.
I know its sound daft but are you getting what i mean? if rory hear's puppy he might feel safe and come out from hiding
sorry if this sounds daft0 -
sazzy never give up hope, we are behind you with our positive thoughts and prayers. Keep stong girl just have you had this last week I think you really are closing in on him.
I keep seeing the caravan site mentoned, I just have a feeling he is using it at night time for shellter, and once daylight comes he is doing a bit of backtracking. Like ali has already said i also think the caravan site is the way to go.
Sending you lots of love and positive vibes xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxRIP TJ. You my be gone, but never forgotten. Always in our hearts xxxHe is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog.You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion.0 -
I'd take Bruce with you, sazzy. Dogs have infinitely better hearing and superb sense of smell, and if he detects anything and his ears went up or he got excited you could be alerted to something important.
About the tape recorder...if you're calling Rory's name, what about recording yourself calling him and playing it at a louder volume than your voice could be, so he might have more chance of hearing it from a distance?0 -

Only thing is, will Bruce be ok staying in one place for any length of time? :undecided
I'm also not sure he will be of any use with Rory's scent particularly. Dogs tend to pick up on other dogs generally so he might get excited by anything iyswim?.
Not sure, but on balance I think I'd be leaving him at home this time?
It's difficult to know what to do for the best really. :undecidedHerman - MP for all!0 -
Morning Sazzy ... As its the weekend, hopefully (if the weather is dry) there will be more people out and about walking their dogs, rambling, shopping, taking their kiddies for a stroll, tidying their front gardens etc, so there could be more chances of sightings today .... Also, just as a matter of interest, would Rory know his way home from the caravan park and the river you mention? Some days I wake up Grumpy ... Other days I let him lie in.0

Fair point...he's only a pup isn't he? She'd have to keep him on a lead I suppose. Just if one of mine was missing, I'd definitely take the other with me to search.0 -
I was thinking about this this morning. My thoughts are that someone possibly found him fireworks night and looked after him and has kept him as there is no collar with details thinking no one wants him? That said - is the newpaper he was in a free newspaper that gets distributed to everyones house? If not is there anything that gets delivered to everyones house in the area? We have a little booklet once a month with local businesses, tradesmen, details of local clubs, societies etc? If you can get him on the front page of the next edition of something like this then at least if it gets thrown away everyone would have glanced at the front page.0

sazzy
Been reading since the start and really hope he comes home soon.
Would he respond to a squeaky toy?
My dog got spooked by fireworks two weeks ago and run home 3/4 mile in the dark.
My 1st thing was to go home and get a squeaky toy as she loves these and comes running for them.
Luckily for me she was outside the house by the time I got home with a lady holding her.
With regards to thanking everyone for helping you, you would do the same for them if you could, I am sure.
I think squiggle being looked after was Karma after we have looked after 3 lost dogs in the past.
I hope he comes home soon as I only suffered 30 minutes of what you have gone through in the last week.
