Sorry everyone, was out down the park again having a look. I'll be going back down again at dusk, just to sit quietly and see if he comes anywhere near-if, indeed, it was him. But it's just something I've got to do.

The local farmers have been alerted thistle, there's so many round here. He's not at the local kennels either- had a look.

There were so many people down there today, we covered the whole park between us, what an amazing bunch of people! (as are you MSEers :o)

The park is closed so no takeaways nearby..we're fast running out of options. But I'll be down there later, with a pillow of ours and his own toys.

    Aileen

    xx
When you say the park, is that the caravan park? Are you able to get in, and if not, does security patrol there?

When I was out walking I thought of you doing a meat drag on the holiday park, forgetting of course it was locked up for the Winter.
The idea was though, to cook a chicken, strip the carcass and drag it along an aisle or two, ending with a pile of meat. You meanwhile would be sitting and watching from a discreet distance.
I read this morning, that a missing dog shouldn't be approached, as he may take off again, especially if he's been gone for a while, better to call to them softly.

In your shoes, I'd be picturing a joyous reunion, with him jumping all over me, but he's had such a fright, that it may not be that way at all.
In his head, it may be akin to shell shock. I'm not being over dramatic, as even experienced dogs in Afghanistan have to retire due to loud bomb blasts, and they're well trained for it.
I wouldn't try a whistle either, as wretched fireworks make that whistling screech before the bang.

It's so frustrating as I can't even picture the local terrain. For example, are there any moors close by where there would be holes in the peat? Anywhere that he could have slipped down?
I was reading of a search and rescue dog, who did just that in the Scottish hills.
His handler said it was if he'd been taken by aliens, as he simply vanished when near her. He was found after two days.

One good thing sazzy is that he hasn't been stolen for breeding or worse. Age does have it's benefits. He's just a frightened boy hiding out somewhere.

Oh, and if you cook a chicken, make sure you eat some yourself. No point Rory coming home to a mum who's too frail to cope.

Great idea Kinski! The more publicity, the better. Has anyone else emailed the STV people as suggested by chris n tj? I did, but got no response.
I read chrisntj's post, but not savvy enough to post links to FB twitter, whatever.
I guess the media will jump on this at the reunion and claim it as there own.

BTW, the facebook page is closed to those not signed up. Surely some FB pages are open to all?

I found this, too. I never bothered signing up to Facebook and so I'm not able to view the page. If anyone sights him that's not a Facebook member, they won't be able to post. Is there a way round this?
  • Could you post a link to the FB page and I will take a look, I couldn't find it by searching for it.

i am afraid to say the TV stations might be sick of seeing my name. The first thing I have been doing in a morning and last thing at night is re emailing them all.

Even the BBC havnt escaped me. I just wish, and hope with all my heart and soul that this big beautiful lad turns up soon.

Lord knows how sazzy is coping because, and I think i speak for most, if not all of us. We are at our witts end, and wishing we could be out there searching as well.

Please sazzy dont give up hope, we are all behind you, and every little idea is a good one. If anyone can think of anymore no matter how daft they might think it sounds then just shout up. You never know it just might be the one that gets our lad ( and yes he is our lad now) home.

Chin up sazzy, keep strong. Keep the faith xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • Could I make a suggestion?

It would be really useful for all this info, FB page, Twitter etc to be in the first post, otherwise peeps on this forum will have to look through 28 pages of posts, in order to help out and I'm not sure if this is allowed but could someone do a post in the Arms with a link to Twitter and FB, that way it can be sent to thousands of people. (those who use the arms tend to use Twitter and FB more than the pet forum peeps I would have thought). I wonder if JO could do an insert in her opening post, or could a new thread be set up and the mods then move all the other posts over to it?
