I can't believe Ruar has been missing for over 8 weeks now with not one definiate sighting. I remember reading this thread on 05th November and really thought he would be found within a few days. I'm so sorry he has not found his way home yet but I do hope it will be a positive ending very soon. The 'not knowing' must be driving you crazy Sazzy, it must be very hard to stay strong and positive.

My sister-in-laws brother's 9 year old dog went missing around 3 year ago, they searched all over and advertised in local papers but there was no positive sightings. Around 1 year ago her brother decided to go to the kennels to look for another dog and found his dog there. It was such a coincidence that he had happened to visit the kennels when his dog was there. I hope you don't have to wait as long to be reunited with Ruar but just wanted to show that there is still hope of finding him safe and well.

Gosh, vich, that must have been a really weird experience.I bet he was both overjoyed to find him,yet angry to realise he had been in kennels for such a long time.

But yes it does bring fresh hope,Sazzy that miracles do happen

I'm so happy for your brother Vic, how wonderful!

We will NEVER give up hope, we just can't. And you're so right- the hardest part is not knowing anything. It's the most horrible feeling ever.

How far away do we look and why was the dog brought in. See here's a grey muzzled boy down South.

Seems to be accounted for, but I think we should look no matter where. Could be Ruars cadged food from a lorry driver and hitched a lift. Driver's wife on arrival says "no way"and Ruars finds himself many miles away from Scotland.

There has to be a reason for no sightings.

I agree Pad- it's so puzzling. I have made up many scenarios in my head- not all of them pleasant I have to say :(

But all we can do is keep going, keep looking and hoping.

I've thought this too. The lorry driver scenario is very plausible...but also I know that rescue centres will send a dog to other areas if their own is full.

Also, a neighbour once saw a dog on the internet up for rehoming and enquired about it. She had her home visit from the rescue, all ok there, then the dog was bought from the south of England to meet her in Merseyside.

Unfortunately the poor dog disgraced himself by growling at her, so she told the rescue lady she now didn't feel the dog was right for her. The lady said the dog would then not be taken back to it's own rescue centre, but found a place locally instead.

So maybe everyone on here could keep an eye on rescues elsewhere in the country, not just focussing on Sazzy's area?

It sure does bring fresh hope, I just hope Sazzy does not have to wait much longer. 8 weeks of not knowing would be driving me crazy.

I think my Sister in Laws brother's dog had been taken in and then somehow found its way to the kennels a week or so before he went to look for another dog. I couldn't believe it when he told me, that much that I said 'are you sure its definitely your dog'. It's amazing how his dog happened to be there when he visited the kennels after two year. I am not in contact with him now as he moved away so unsure if he still has his dog, she must be around 12 or older and he did say she had aged since she had went missing. Strangley enough I think it must have been November when she had escaped and it was due to fireworks!
