Just been looking at Doglost, there's two lost dogs in Scotland (34435) for whom sniffer dogs were brought in to pick up the scent of the missing dogs The scent indicated that the dogs were underground somewhere (Jack Russells I think they are).

Could this owner be contacted and asked how she went about getting the sniffer dogs? Might be worth a try at this stage.

Thanks zaksmum, I've just asked her, so we'll see what she says.

I got a call from a Nairn lady this morning who handed in a black lab to the police, I belted down there as fast as the car would take me, but the lab was too young. But it means people are still looking and thinking of Ruars, which encourages me to keep going.

Another reporter phoned this morning, and it's going to be in the Forres Gazette- thanks almond hun xx
Ruaridh Armstrong-missing since 05/11/11. Come home old boy-we miss you x

If you can't stand behind our troops, please feel free to stand in front of them.

I will respect your opinions, even if I don't agree with them :)

I can see the case and the poster, I can't see where it says sniffer dogs had searched for them.
The reason I 've brought up peat hills and how close they are is because of this, in the link.

Hi Padstow - if you look again at the Doglost site, go to 34435 under Lost Dogs and read the comments under Sightings and Information. It's the third comment down I think, from Sable - Scotland coordinator LostDogs Scotland.

It's a description of the days events in the search for the two missing dogs and explains what the sniffer dogs did.

Aileen (sazzy) has asked on there how to go about getting sniffer dogs involved.

I know, it's awful how many do go missing isn't it? But if you read some of them it gives hope for Ruaridh...some are found ages after going missing.

I hate reading about the 7 day rule some of the rescues have though. Now that WOULD put me off handing a dog in.
  • Hiya Sazzy "& Co"

Just dropped in to see if any news yet....I was thinking, this may have been said before but i cant remember seeing it .....Sazzy how about flyers at xmas fayers?
Or this time of year schools/nurserys are having their nativity plays - if a small pic of Rory and his story was attatched to the nativity play programme - just think more grandparents who may not have access to the internet and are oblivious to the search will go to the nativity plays and may just know something - maybe its just a daft thought though or maybe it will help.

Just trying to rack my brain as to what else can be done - sorry if its been said or a daft idea.....Good Luck Sazzy ...fingers crossed xxx
