I've done it I have spent the last week reading your diary Mrs P, I have read all 198 pages! Have loved it. I have laughed and cried with you. Hated it when you were so poorly with your back. Loved the mankini and joined in with the dodgy cocktail party. I think you are fab and what a lovely Mum you are to your gorgeous dds. The debt you have paid off is amazing. Happy Belated Birthday. Morning all,
What a gorgeous sunny day. Is it me or do you all get so much more doen when the sun shines ?
Thankyou for the birthday wishes, it was a lovely day.
I am, as usual very behind with my diary and everyone elses, infact I have no idea at all what you are all up to.
I have a few minutes now so I will try and do a quick update here of the end of the week which other than day to day rambles will mainly involve the car and the Bank Account Manager........I will start with him !
To his credit I really should take back everything we said about him. He actually was very nice and couldn't apologise enough for his phone call out of the blue and demands of last week. He had just taken over the account and the Powers that Be had flagged up our account to him. We had a three hour long meeting in which time we discovered that B@rcl@ys had no understanding of the business, ie our business activity of which they had on the Account was completely and utterly wrong. We explained why the account had needed the overdraft in the first place ( bad debts) , the things that led to it, the way the business runs, the difficulties of the end of last year and first few months of this year. His thoughts are that there is no reason why the facility in his opinion should be taken away, but his gut feeling is that the Powers that Be will probably offer us a reduced overdraft facility and put the rest on a loan. He seemed to understand exactly why we didnt want a loan. He will put his case across at the end of next week but Im not holding my breath. He had all of our accounts, figures etc etc but the one and only reason he has been given is that the last time the account was in credit was October. It is infact in credit now and will actually, for the first time in a long while this week, have a reasonable about of money in there, putting it in the best position for a long time. We do though need to pay ourselves so that we can pay the mortgage and there is more money to the tax man, but it still will stay in credit which we are really really pleased about. . We have two business accounts with the bank, one is a savings account where I put the VAT, Tax etc. They dont take into account the money int here and as I said had I not had that account and that money had been kept in the main account instead it would have been in credit alot more over the last few years. He asked about our personal credit history, we were honest (ish ) ie that it wasnt great, we didnt elaborate further but we did discuss things that had gone on with the business which put us where we are today . So we now wait with baited breath as to the outcome. As of today we dont need the overdraft, but who knows what the next few months will bring. Work is still busy but very last minute jobs now and back to the day to day bits and pieces, not long contracts as theres not much out there.
So after that ramble, the car !! After last weeks escapades Mr PG has been made to drive it again. This time though it broke down on him on the way to a job on Friday. He got it started, but it literally conked out as he drove, its only done that once before. Mr PG has a few hours off on Monday and if I am quiet also work wise we are going to nip down to the local car auction and see what there is to be had. We are tempted to send it to the great Car Heaven in the sky, pop it on ebay and see how much it brings. We will then try and manage with one car for a while. Dependant on whereabouts we both need to be it is sometimes feasible. If not we may need to hire a car for a few days a month if neither of us can get to where we need to be by train, but it will give us time to gather together ( work permitting ) some money to put towards another vehicle.
Now I will answer some of your messages I have neglected over the last few days, so forgive me if todays posts drag on xLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Before you rush into cancelling the account make sure you have another business account open ready. I wasn't able to open a business bank account due to my personal history even though my business has no debts, loans, HP's or anything. They are really strict and they would check your history personally to score you for the business account. This is whether you are ltd or not. I even asked for a basic business account with just a bank card, no credit or OD.
Hello, thankyou for joining us, lovely to see you !
Thanks for the great advice. We do have another dormant account with another bank, that we will use if need be, but I really am hoping not to go down that route. So that is covered. Our personal history as Im sure you have gathered is totally shot to pieces, makes for interesting reading on N0dd£e, so there is no way we would get another account. xxLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Hadn't appreciated you were doing the UE route. Seems that its going in the right direction for you.
Hope DDs are back on the mend and the other stuff turns into positives too.

Hee Hee !! I wasnt intentionally going down the UE route to be honest. I am sailing by the seat of my pants with this one ! As I have probably said before, we run up the debts, we should pay them, but when one accounts DCA's werent passing the money onto the new owner of the debt and our debt not reducing and the other two having been paid ten times over, and none of them appear at the moment to be able to produce the CCA then I figured it was worth a try. I can then concentrate on the other debts which although defaulted haven't been passed on and fingers crossed offer some F&F's if this year goes well.
Thats the plan , we will see how it goes !LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

So sorry to hear about all your troubles and poor DDs too. I hope the girls are feeling better soon. And I hope your computer and cars are sorted very cheaply too.
And a belated Happy Birthday too.
Hi Pooh,
I hope you are ok, I need to catch up with you.
The Computer is working again, for now at least. Mr PG thinks it could need a new hard drive, which he is capable of installing, but for now its working so we will put it on the back burner for now !
DD1 much better but ended up with 3 days off of school which she can ill afford this year. I am just waiting for DD2 to come down with the bug. It seems to be rife from what I have heard _pale_ xLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !
