A car is the only thing I really wish we could get credit for. We need something reliable we do so much mileage between us, and it needs to look semi decent . Its such a problem for us DFW Wannabees. There is no easy answer.

My Service light is peramently lit up too, as are the sparks plugs, the ABS, the EBS , the BAC, you name it really . It emits a terrible smell that gives me a headache, coughs and chugs and gases anyone who maybe standing in the the vincinity as it pulls away ! The sun roof I darent open incase it will never close again, the windscreen has a huge crack across it, the rear passenger door wont open , oh and it conks out for no aparent reason whilst travelling along the road, with no warning whatsoever ! . Mr PG nearly had a bus plough into the back of him on Sunday night  It also refuses to start if I have done lots of short hops turning the engine on and off. After a while it goes on strike and refuses to start at all for at least an hour leaving me stranded and or late for many things !!

The auctions are very interesting they also make a mean bacon sandwich there, so I am a happy bunny watching all the cars coming through and watching the bids whilst chomping on my sarnie ! . One guy bought £60K of top of the range cars yesterday. As much as it is fortunes to spend, the glasses guide price for those cars was so much more than he paid. No doubt he is planning to put them on a forecourt somewhere for a huge profit. Got me thinking that one !!! Maybe a bit of a sideline one day ? :rotfl:

    Hi Mrs PG

I've read all your diary but never posted but your car issues sound like what happened to my Citroen AX, my second ever car quite a while ago now :) I used to get headaches driving back from UNI each day and couldn't understand why and it also cut out a lot! Turned out I was giving myself carbon monoxide poisoning!!!!! As the manifold gasket had perished and all the exhaust fumes were coming in through the air vents. It kept cutting because the lambda sensor was sensing a problem, clever thing these sensors just wished it could have talked and told me what the problem is..... The sensor is usually found in the tail pipe:)

Probably of no use what so ever so ill go back lurking. Hope it gets sorted.

Dont be silly, dont go back to lurking, its great to see you !

Mr PG's car is a Citroen and that has given us a fair amount of trouble . We had it from new and I swear it spent most of its first three years in the garage rather than out on the road.

The "Poisoning" was really worrying me actually, we have to keep the air vent circulating around the car which keeps the fumes down. I also seem to have a permanent headache. It has though improved since the car was serviced and I think something was changed although with so much going on, for the life I me I cant remember what it was. :o

The cutting out looks to be electrical which might coincide with the sensor you mentioned. I will definitely tell Mr PG when I see him as its worth bearing in mind. The car to be spruced up and waved goodbye to in a hurry ! In the meantime I have my parents car but it may have to be given back in the next few days. Then I am a bit stuck so it looks as though I may need to hire something to get me by which is a big headache I could do without.

Thankyou and plse drop in again soon ! xx

Pinot your cars sounds very dangerous with the fumes coming in. I hope you find something cheap and reliable.

My sons buy Vauxhall Corsas and Astras, use them for a couple of years and then buy another for £2-300. Their current cars are an M reg and an R reg. Seem to keep running until the rust gets to them.

I discovered that Mr P's pick up had no MOT!!! So when we bought it there must have been just 8 months and I was convinced it was a year. So we are one car down until the parts I have ordered arrive.

Persuade one of your girls to become an engineer or a mechanic :D DS3 sorts out most of our problems now though he is used to engines the size of a van.
business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Oh no, no MOT !! We did that once by mistake actually, i drove around for about three months before it suddenly dawned on me. Hope you get the truck back on the road soon Pooh.

Yep car isn't ideal, I am lucky in that Mr PG does loads of work himself if he is around to do it, but he isn't at the moment sadly . x

So on another subject not car related, I am back on the debts again.

After requesting the CCA for two of our MBNA debts, the ones that we think may be unenforceable, they have today sent me a letter attaching a "Gift Voucher " especially for me ! :rotfl:

Its hilarious, the gift voucher entitles us to the discounted sum of
£1,344.00 off of the remaining debt as long as the balance is paid by the 30th April. They have though neglected to send the copy of the CCA I asked for. :D

I have had a look at their website today , it made interesting reading with offers of payment plans, discounts etc.

These guys appear to be total Numpties ! x

I appear to have forgotten to say "happy birthday". I did think it when I have been reading, but I don't appear to have put thoughts to taps. Sorry!

Hope the car issues sort themselves out soon. I'm also of the thoughts why not buy a cheapo £200-£300 for a few months to tide you over. Gotta be cheaper than hiring any day :) and just think about all the naughties that have occurred on the backseats haha.
