Northern Rock PPI Letter

I received the standard letter from Northern Rock back in mid October. I ticked the relevant boxes and sent it back next day.
Finally today i got an offer from them for the full amount plus the 8% interest. Its taken nearly six months for my claim to be dealt with, but finally they say the money will be with me in 28 days.
So my advice is, dont give up, keep at them and you will get what is rightfully yours eventually.0 -
I was contacted by Northern Rock on Jan 5th with the standard tick-box letter and sent it back immediately. I had a letter on March 30th asking me why I hadn't replied to their settlement offer - an offer that I had never received! I phoned them and spoke to a zombie who promised she would send me a copy of the offer and despite several more phone calls I've not managed to get my hands on the paperwork or even determine how much the offer is as they refuse to use fax or email and only send post second class. I'm convinced they're under orders to stall as long as possible on the grounds that the money is best earning interest in their account rather than yours. I was sold PPI without realising and it really hacks me off that they won't pay it back and what's more they think themselves invulnerable to anything you can do.:mad::mad:
I've also had this - we've sent an offer but you haven't responded - I haven't had the letter so rang them up and said please resend it - was told that all the names go into a spreadsheet and they send the letters out in one batch - that was last Tuesday - now a week later and like others, I'm still waiting.
They won't even tell me over the phone how much they want to offer me and they won't e-mail me the letter - even to a work e-mail address - not a tiny company but a big well known brand - they said they couldn't in case of fraud.
Grrrr.... I want my money!0 -
So, having rung NRAM over a week ago because I got their letter saying I hadn't accepted their offer, and them promising to send out a replacement letter, it now transpires that call hadn't been logged so no replacement letter has been sent out.
I'm asking again for it to be sent to a work e-mail address. I have an unique name and work in a large organisation with a very recognisable e-mail so here's hoping.
Now waiting for a manager to call me back to let me know if it's all possible.
They are such a waste of space!  :mad:0 -
Well, I received a letter from NRAM on 2nd March saying my claim had been upheld after waiting almost 5 months for a reply. The letter said that once they received the signed Acceptance Declaration, the money will be issued to my bank, usually within 28 days. I rung NRAM on 4th April to get an update, and they advised me that the money would be paid in within the next few days. I really didn't hold out much hope for that as it was just before Easter anyway, and NRAM had been so useless up to then, so I left it until this Monday - 16th April by then. When I eventually got through they said that their computers were down and they would ring me back the next day. By 4pm, they still hadn't rung back, so I phoned them again, and they said that the computers were still down and they would ring me back again the next day. 20 minutes later, they rang me back and advised me that although the computers were down, they could see my money had been sent to the payments team, and that it would be with me no later than 10 working days from 4th April. By my reckoning, that is 19th. So fingers crossed for tomorrow!!!!0

Hmm, maybe I should put a complaint in about how my complaint has been processed :rotfl:
PP
I've just done exactly that via email!!
To customerrelations@n-ram.co.uk
Dear Sir / Madam
I was mis sold PPI and completed the consumer questionnaire from the internet, which I posted to you at your 'Making a complaint' address as advertised on the website - Prudhoe Building, NE3 4AW - by recorded delivery on 20th February 2012. Track and trace confirms this was delivered to your address on 21st February 2012.
I also enclosed copies of:- the loan application details, the loan agreement, death benefits under my employers pension scheme, proof of working for a local Corporation and employment / sickness benefits.
On 20th April 2012 I received a letted dated 13th April 2012 with "Our ref: ********", from the NRAM Review team, PO box 68596, EC2P 2LA, this letter explained about mis-sold PPI and offers the opportunity to request a review of your policy. It also goes on to explain that the letter should be disregarded if contact has been made recently to make a complaint. Enclosed is a NRAM PPI Review Resonse Form and pre-paid envelope.
When I read this letter over the weekend, I assumed (because of the word 'disregard') that this was the response that you are required to make to me within eight weeks as also stated on your website. But having read the letter again today, there was no indication of what happens next, so I phoned the number on the letter - 0800 294 6744 - and spoke to *** this afternoon, who explained to me that they did not have any of the documents which I had already sent in and that I would have to start my claim again using the Review form.
I asked how long this process takes and he told me around 14 weeks, I also asked if it was possible that his department could contact your department to obtain the items already sent in 9 weeks ago to which he responded that he could not and the only way forwards was for me to re-send all of the information again to his department along with the Review form.
Could you please explain to me, via email, within the next 7 days:
Why my information was not processed?
Why departments within NRAM are unable to communicate with each other?
Can the information you have already received be forwarded to the NRAM PPI Review Team?
The current location of the information I sent in?
Why I may have to wait 23 weeks before a decision is made on my claim?

I received a letter off Nram last week ( to a previous address) with an attached form! Filled out the form stating I was unaware I had PPI on this loan as it was never needed! Also attached a note with new address! I take it I probably won't hear back for some time! I might ring them up just to see if they have received my reply and my change of address!0

Probably no use now as this thread is old but I sent my letter back and today received a letter offering me almost £3k to be paid into my bank account as soon as I send it back. My neighbour received hers too in February from Northern Rock so always worth looking into it.0
