Northern Rock PPI Letter

Just thought I should post an update on my claim to give people hope !
I got sent the standard, tick box letter that everyone else seems to have received around the beginning of last November. I sent it back with the relavent box ticked, no further questions asked and got an offer around the end of Feb which I accepted.
£2.5k is showing as pending to go into my bank account tomorrow.
Ok, so its took them a little longer than I expected, but in view of the number of claims that they must be dealing with Iam more than happy with the way mine has been handled.0 -
I received a letter on 20th January to say I had been missold PPI with my Northorn Rock Loan. I called on 20th Jan to start the complaint rolling. I've called a couple of times and first was told it would be 8 weeks to resolve, then second call says 10 weeks.
I have just called again tonight and spoke to someone who tells me because Nram made me aware the PPI has been missold I'm not treated like a customer who called them to complain and it can take up to 14 weeks and beyond to resolve? I asked if they were bound by FSA guidelines but the guy said no your case is not a complaint, however if I want to raise a complaint they will delete all the work they have done on my case since the 20th January and I will go back to the start of the complaints process?
I told im I thought his attitude and his cusotmer service was ridiculous and asked the name of the Chief Exec..."don't know" was his reply!! Next his manager came on the line...just as bad. Never have I received such bad customer service and clearly they are a classic example of not putting themselves in the customers shoes.0 -

I knew it would be a waste of time phoning them and i was right. They said they were under no pressure from the FSA to sort out claims and it would take as long as it takes. Was told by the snotty git that i could always take my claim to the FSA but i would then be waiting another 12 months to get it sorted! WHAT A WASTE OF TIME THEY ARE!!!!!!!!!!
it must have been the same snotty git i spoke with tonight0 -

After waiting 23 weeks for a reply to this stupid nram questionaire and there telephone customer care being of no use whatsoever i have finally decided to kick the whole business of them in to touch, and give up with it. No wonder northern rock went bump with the people they have working for them!!!!!!0

I got a letter from NRAM on the 3rd Feb. I sent back the questionnaire about a week later (I was on hols when it came) and got a reply in about 10 days after that with a settlement figure.
Sent that letter back accepting it.
Just wondered how long it takes to pop up in your account after replying with the acceptance letter?0 -

Saying I was sold a PPI policy on a personnel loan, which was news to me as I didn’t know I had taken out a PPI policy on the loan with Northern Rock between June 2006 and May 2009 for £9000 so ticked the box signed return form.
Received letter back from them on 27th Feb offering me refund of premium £162.66 plus 8% £55.71 overall refund of 218.37 which seems and lot less then other people on this forum seem to have been offered for similar loans.
I did not keep any of the paper work for the loan after I finish paying it off, all I can remember that is was a £9000 unsecured loan and the interest rate was very low, that’s why I went with Northern Rock 4.? % rings a bell and paid £276.70 for 36 months so interest paid was £961.20
Does anyone think the amount I am being offered sounds a bit low compared to what others are being offered or should I just except it.0 -
I was contacted by Northern Rock on Jan 5th with the standard tick-box letter and sent it back immediately. I had a letter on March 30th asking me why I hadn't replied to their settlement offer - an offer that I had never received! I phoned them and spoke to a zombie who promised she would send me a copy of the offer and despite several more phone calls I've not managed to get my hands on the paperwork or even determine how much the offer is as they refuse to use fax or email and only send post second class. I'm convinced they're under orders to stall as long as possible on the grounds that the money is best earning interest in their account rather than yours. I was sold PPI without realising and it really hacks me off that they won't pay it back and what's more they think themselves invulnerable to anything you can do.:mad::mad:0

Have to say that knowing I'm not alone has eased my blood pressure slightly so thanks to all those other victims of Norhern Rock for posting their experiences on this forum.0
