Been reading thru this thread with interest. I have been offered £224 back on an £8000 loan i had with them. Others on here that had similar loan amount have been offered a lot more i.e £1000+. Should i challenge the amount they are offering or just be gratefull for the £224??? I did pay the loan off early, maybe thats the reason???
Received letter from NRAM on 17th Jan.
Saying I was sold a PPI policy on a personnel loan, which was news to me as I didn’t know I had taken out a PPI policy on the loan with Northern Rock between June 2006 and May 2009 for £9000 so ticked the box signed return form.
Received letter back from them on 27th Feb offering me refund of premium £162.66 plus 8% £55.71 overall refund of 218.37 which seems and lot less then other people on this forum seem to have been offered for similar loans.
I did not keep any of the paper work for the loan after I finish paying it off, all I can remember that is was a £9000 unsecured loan and the interest rate was very low, that’s why I went with Northern Rock 4.? % rings a bell and paid £276.70 for 36 months so interest paid was £961.20
Does anyone think the amount I am being offered sounds a bit low compared to what others are being offered or should I just except it.0 -
Got my money today and it was received within 28 days of sending the letter of offer back. True to their word. Feeling really good now.0

Dont give up if your still waiting, it will happen0 -
After receiving a letter in October from NRAM, I submitted my response. Today I have received a settlement of £1000 on a £10,000 loan taken out in October 2006. There is a breakdown of the figures, but I don't know if this is correct. Does this sound about right for this sum borrowed ?0

Impossible to answer without the breakdown. However, the breakdown should give you the answer you need.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Finally after 17 weeks I get a response! Complaint upheld. I am posting my acceptance letter today. Terrible service but good result in the end. Will be happy when the money is in my account and I can put this whole sorry experience to bed. My opinion of NRAM has gone right down due to the unacceptable time they have taken to resolve this. I appreciate that there is a back log but I did not proactively hear from them once in the whole 17 weeks. I was the one making all of the contact.Wins so far: Limited edition serving bowl, 2 tickets to Black Eyed Peas at Alton Towers, A years supply of Crunchy Nut Bites, Dettol hand sanitiser x3, Models Own Make up, Bottle of Echo Falls wine, Nivea for Men, £25 on Premium Bonds, Day2Night Rimmel mascara, 500 AClub point, Stroller Roller Pushchair Travel Bag, £65 iTunes vouchers.0

Mine is approaching 19 weeks now and still nothing. Think they are taking the P.0 -

Can't stand this and really feeling for all you guys who haven't been paid!
We used a claims management company, who started the claim October 2011. In January 2012, we received an acceptance form with bank details requested. So we sent that off, two weeks later they claimed they hadn't received it.
Once again, a week later we sent off ANOTHER acceptance form they gave us and that reached them (with the aid of Recorded Delivery). It's been 7 weeks now since they received that letter, we even had the invoice from the claims company!
Not very happy, especially when this refund is very, very, very much needed. We know now the claims management company was a bad idea, but we can't do much about it now. Not a big fan of NRAM.0
