Week 16, and still no response from NRAM stating whether I am receiving a payment or not !0

Hmmm I helped my hubs claim back his mis sold ppi from NRAM about 18 mnths ago but he has also received one of these letters. Thinking it was an oversight we haven't bothered filling it in, now I'm not so sure.
What do ye think aye - naw?Don't try to keep up with the Joneses - Drag them down to your level - it's cheaper .0 -
I think NRAM are handling this terribly. I requested my review at the beginning of November and have called about 5 times now only to be told 'your request is still with the review team'. When I put the review request in I was told I would get a response in approximately 8 weeks. After 8 weeks I called where I was told 'we are advising customers they will receive a response within 10 weeks' this has gone on and on and I am now at 14 weeks with no response. I am currently paying this PPI still on a loan I still have with Northern Rock. I have called to cancel this but they will now not let me as they are saying that if I do the complaint will go back to day 1. So, so frustrated. I had a fantastic turnaround time from Virgin for my credit card PPI so I really do not understand how this can be taking so long.Wins so far: Limited edition serving bowl, 2 tickets to Black Eyed Peas at Alton Towers, A years supply of Crunchy Nut Bites, Dettol hand sanitiser x3, Models Own Make up, Bottle of Echo Falls wine, Nivea for Men, £25 on Premium Bonds, Day2Night Rimmel mascara, 500 AClub point, Stroller Roller Pushchair Travel Bag, £65 iTunes vouchers.0

This is correct,do not cancel the ppi yet,if you do,the loan will be reset without ppi and the apr and term may go higher.
If you win redress the whole ppi comes off the balance of the loan and your monthly payment goes down by the ppi monthly amouny.0 -

Think most people including myself claimed at end of October/beginning November. Was told it would take up to 12 weeks, but now going on 15 weeks without any reply......0 -
as my user name suggests I have insider info about this.
NRAM have begun a massive review of PPI on unsecured loans and the response has been terrific.
Although it's taking/taken some people 16 weeks to get an offer or payment, if they went via the complaint route the FSA have now said banks can have up to 16 weeks to deal with PPI complaints so there's no guarantee it would have been dealt with any quicker.
I'd just hang in there, frustrating as it is, and wait for a reply. They are serious about dealing with this problem.0 -
Has anyone who received and replied to the Northern rock letter regarding claiming PPI been given a final decision as yet? It's 14 weeks since my claim was registered and still I haven't had a response. They are certainly dragging their heels.0

Hi, I've been following this thread for a few weeks as i had also received the same letter from NRAM. I finally was sent an offer last week after waiting nearly 16 weeks, which im really happy about :T. But i was wondering, In the letter it said the money would be refunded within 28 days but i just wanted to know if anybody had had theirs before or are still waiting after the 28 days? Thank you in advance0

With some luck I should be able to let you know in about 17 days.0
