Just a quick update, after my last phone call chasing nram when I was told my claim had got held up with the review team and the lady I spoke to said she would chase it, I got my offer through about a week later.
I sent my acceptance off with my bank details in the envelope provided. Allowing for it taking a week to get to nram, the 28 days was up yesterday and I've still not received payment. Telephoned this morning and, yet again, it's got stuck in the process. This time with the payments team.
The lady I spoke to said she would chase it up and it should be paid in about 10 working days
Hmm, maybe I should put a complaint in about how my complaint has been processed :rotfl:

I hope you get it through soon! We're still awaiting ours and today we've had a handwritten letter through the post, can't open it though since the mother's still in bed after working last night. Why does it seem the people who put claims in later than others are getting theirs before the early claimers? It's all so confusing! :rotfl:0 -
Things seem to of gone very quiet on the NRAM scene. This could possibly be because they are not replying to any of us!!!!
NRAM actually stands for `Not Replying Any More`:mad::mad::mad::mad:0 -

However good news is that I've been offered £1100 back on a £8k loan! :j Sent the reply back on Monday, recorded delivery (to make sure!), will be interesting to see how long I have to wait for the money... But for the price of a phone call I can't complain :T
Thought i'd give you all an update on the above post from 1st Feb. Well nearly two months on and I still haven't received my money!
First they claimed that my initial response wasn't received and had to issue me with a new letter. This was finally confirmed as received on the 25th Feb. Great I thought, money should arrive within 28 days from now... On around the 19th March I gave them a call, just to check that everything was going to plan. Was told it had been passed to payments and will be in my account within 10 days. Good stuff I thought! Well the initial 28 days passed... No money. Then the 10 days from the 19th passed... No money! I called today and have been told that due to a system error they haven't been able to verify peoples signatures on their PPI replies to those on their original credit agreements. WHAT?? Why wasn't I told this every other time I've chased you? What makes it more frustrating is that after taking some additional 'security' info they have now been able to verify everything and move the payment on. AGAIN why couldn't I have just done this last week?? Apparently it will now be ANOTHER 10-14 days... FUMING!!
So be warned, if you're expecting a payment any time soon I'd get on the phone to these amateurs ASAP. They can get the payment processed if you confirm the month and year you took out the initial loan, the amount you borrowed and your monthly repayments (thank god for online banking!).
Fingers crossed I won't have to chase anymore, but I won't count on it.0 -
I also got nram letter just before xmas. I have had three loans through northern rock all of which were done online at time . Last 2 i know did not take out ppi but not sure on first one. But got letter this week stating they cocked up and i can have refund of £250. Deep joy as i was not sure if i would get anything. Nice easter pressie. Only but have to wait 28 days for money

Hi,
Sent a letter to Virgin Money regarding PPI on an NR loan about 3 weeks ago, then received a letter from NRAM on Friday saying someone would be in touch about it.
Yesterday (Saturday) I received a call from who I believed to be NRAM going through the motions, but thought it was strange they couldn't quite me an account number or be more specific. Turns out it was a PPI Claim company and they are sending out someone with documentation on Wednesday to get me to sign. Luckily they are going to call in advance, at which point I will tell them I will be dealing with NRAM only.
Just felt a bit cheated and wondered where they got my details from as I'm on the TPS. I'm waiting for my baby to arrive any day too, so mind on other matters, as you can understand.
They are no better than those who originally mis-sold in my opinion!Bored of being in debt.

This is just a coincidental cold call. The salespeople are trained to ask "open" questions which invite the called person to believe it is a Bank representative. Remember, you'd be pleased and hopeful about any call that DID come from NRAM.
I'm pleased you are cancelling their visit.
Remember;
Sign Nothing
Return nothing
Give them...nothing.;)0 -
Thanks moneyineptitude,
I actually let Virgin Money know about it too, as I feel they should know in case personal information is being sold on. They are going to look into it. I also emailed NRAM to let them know they should only correspond with me individually as I read that some funny things can go on without you knowing, and if paperwork has been drawn up, it's best to be on the safe side!
That should cover every base!Bored of being in debt.

Well decided to phone NRAM again yesterday after now waiting a massive 5 months for a reply to the questionaire i sent back at end of October. I knew it would be a waste of time phoning them and i was right. They said they were under no pressure from the FSA to sort out claims and it would take as long as it takes. Was told by the snotty git that i could always take my claim to the FSA but i would then be waiting another 12 months to get it sorted! WHAT A WASTE OF TIME THEY ARE!!!!!!!!!!0
