• Lisa Austin got me too!
There seem to be a few of us.
Surely we can file a claim and try and get out money back form gumtree? This is a common issue that is unresolved.
I have read their terms and conditions and they don't seem to accept any liability unfortunately but there must be something!
It's not right that people are continuously getting scammed!

Thanks rimmy, can't believe I fell for something so easily. As a user of Ebay, Preloved, Gumtree etc regularly I am normally so careful but must have just become too trustworthy over time. Never again! This Ebay tie in seems suspicious too! I'll log these details with my case to see if that adds any more weight. If someone has logged all of these details with times, dates, adverts, contact details etc and it is reoccurring then they must do something about it. Even if we cannot get money back then at least seeing them stopping these people would be pleasing. Even simple 'bold' notes to say do not pay via ukash, and parcelforce or other couriers will not request payment prior to release.

Ganders - yes I was alarmed to read that eBay have bought and own Gumtree! And all these adverts seem to come from old eBay adverts.

I too am careful and very cautious, it goes to show how the way the scam is constructed makes even cautious people vulnerable so don't think yourself alone.

The purpose I am keeping this forum active is not because I expect to get my money back (I don't, and am fortunate to be able to write off the loss) but so we can keep people aware and also to log all the activity of times, posts etc so there is eventually a decent cohort of data available if the scammer(s) ever get caught.

orpheuspbe please can you find and add in the gumtree advert to your post, there is no point people posting comments alone. We need to capture the detail and the item in question.

thanks

this is the second time i have contacted parcelforce under the foi act
the first e-mail went through to suspicious e-mails at parcelforce with an automatic reply but i managed today to e-mail the right department.
the request was for the first time this scam was brought to their attention and how many customers have been affected by it
cheers
hi its lisa here from gumtree ukash scam lisa75morgan@gmail.com parcelforce 07973425052
i have managed by repeating the above line and similar lines to get quite high on google
to help stop others from being scammed
it would help if posters included the fake names when posting to aid others who are suspicious and google deborah regan, lisa austin and a host of nearly 20 other names.
cheers

Interesting you saying that cheekychap... when I called parcelforce it took probably less than 30 seconds to get an answer as they seemed well aware of it: *Me "think i've been conned" *Parcelforce "have you received an email from us for through gumtree?" *Me "Yes, why?", *Parcelforce "you need to speak to the police as it's nothing to do with us!" I'll post the name again lisa75morgan@gmail.com 07973425052 Always the same number but different names/ addresses. Just type the phone number into google and see how many sites and names this person is using and how long it's been going on but nothing to stop it via gumtree... surely this person/ people have got an ip address??
• Ganders thats why they are using google gmail
when you open the email header and use freely available software the trail stops at google in california
not that the scammers are in california but google do not send out ip addresses on their emailsand have to be subpoenod in court to get them
cheers
i agree that parcelforce know all about the scam as i phoned them to enquire when my item was arriving to be told i was scammed right away like rimmy i am building as much info as i can

• I too have just been a victim of this Lisa Morgan on Gumtree. Feeling very stupid. She claims to be able to deliver items advertised on Gumtree via Parcel Force as a benefit of her work. First she says the driver can take cash but then it turns out you need a UKASH voucher. You then get an email supposedly from Parcel Force asking you to buy a UKASH voucher and register the details of the voucher with them. That's the last you hear from them and I guess they redeem the voucher some how.

Her email is lisa75morgan@gmail.com and mobile is 07425620661
