i have just made a call through them and the announcement said 12p per minute?0

Was this call to a mobile phone ?
If it was then that's right, 12p per minute.
Their rate has gone up by 2p for mobiles.if i had known then what i know now0 -
Their website is now updated, confirming that it is free to call UK landlines, barring 1p connection. I also had an e-mail from them, confirming this.koru0

i have just spotted this on the 18866 website too....its too good to be true!
I thought the 3p offer was good, but this has just blown all the deals out of the door....what next 0.5p connection fee? Shame they dont do broadband!?0 -
What about calls to the oddities like 0845 (which most big companies seem to use now) do they make up their costs by hammering you on those? Sounds too good to be true, but then if Martin endorses it, I guess I shouldn't be so sceptical :-/0

Just spotted an increase in one of 18866 tarifss, so beware!
Calling a mobile from your landline during the week is now 12p/min - it used to be 10p/min.
1899 is still charging 10p/min for weekday calls to mobiles.
So...looks like we'll still have to use both.
I'll be using 18866 for almost ALL calls.
But use 1899 for calls to mobiles on weekdays, and calls to America (only 0.5p/min!)
Cheers,

I've only just started looking into using a separate call company from my normal provider, NTL...I've used the price comparison site Uswitch & have just signed up to Onetel (received my phone.pal box today)
I realise I can save even more if I also use companies like 18866 or 1899 to make some of the calls, but I'm really concerned about keeping tabs on all the different bills...there's potentially 3 different bills each month, don't people find it confusing?0 -
"What will 1899 do now? (which would then surely be bettered by 18866). 1899, if you need my bank details so that you can pay me to use your system please feel free to contact me. "
Maybe they should start count in 0.1p increasments instead of 1p connection fee they can cut them to 0.99p etc' etc' ;DFive exclamation marks the sure sign of an insane mind!!!!!

As well as the increase for mobiles from 10p to 12p mon-fri, they have increased 0845s from 3p to 4p and 0870s from 7p to 9p.

:)Thanks for the details - Just signed up to 18866, although I would use then more if you didn't have to dial that extra number every time.0
