Can anyone please advise me on the best way to get mud out of clothes. My dd has come back from a school trip with a bag of muddy clothes  . I've been soaking and rinsing them but I've done this previously with other clothes and they are usuall still stained with brown after. I did a search and someone mentioned soda crystals, I have some in the cupboard so do I soak the clothes with a cup of crystals in hot or cold water or do forget the soaking and just put the whole lot on a hot wash in the machine?
Thanks in advance.

I have never yet managed to roast a decent beef joint - all it is fit for after cooking is re-soling shoes!
Anyway, as I LOVE beef I have decided to give pot roasting in my slow cooker a go.
I have bought a Joint Blade Rolled as it said suitable for slow/pot-roasting.
Weight: 1.170kg
How long should it take to cook and at what temperature please?
My slow cooker is a new one, I believe that makes a difference.
Also do I still put an inch of water in the base as I do with Chicken?
Many thanks.
EDIT: Oooooo I got a star!!!Ageing is a privilege not everyone gets.

ok so one of Annabelles dresses (my fave one she has only wore once
) got lost in with some damp towels and as it sat a week (i didnt realise it was missing when i washed her clothes) its got some mould on the top
Ive tried stain removers, boiling water and washing it a few times but it hasnt moved an inch, is there anything i can do to get rid of it or is the dress ruined? I have thought about perhaps dyeing it but it has embroydery (sp) that id hate to have to colour too unless it had to be done.

Thanks for coming to my rescue yet again Pink! :T
Well at 8.30 this morning I put the joint in the slow cooker on LOW, along with water, carrot, celery, onion and seasoning.
Hoping to remove it around 4.30 and then make the gravy from the liquid remaining.
Hope this is long enough to cook as, I forgot to say earlier, I don't like to see and pink on my meat?
Hope for the first time ever it doesn't come out like shoe leather as then I can use the leftovers for dinner tomorrow!Ageing is a privilege not everyone gets.
