Hi I know it's late but I was just wondering as I have just cleaned the bathroom what tips you all have on keeping a shower clean? It is the bain of my life since having a corner shower fitted with stainless (Ha thats a joke!) steel and glass. How can I make life easier?

Hi Clutterfree. (You lucky thing!) I recently cooked beef in my slow cooker for the first time (it's new, well a couple of months old.) hadn't had the nerve before but I have to say everyone commented on the meal I had to stop the children from drinking the gravy as an unexpected guest arrived. I used Brisket as we find it the tastest Beef and its one of the more thrifty cuts. I sealed it quickly in a hot frying pan first as we like a bit of colour, then in the slow cooker filled with water half way up the joint, put it on high for the day(until 4pm), came home removed meat to rest, oxo, bisto and flour, reduced the juices hey presto. Have another piece in the freezer can't wait as was fab and best of all reduced! Happy cooking

Baby oil is great for making steel nice and shiney again, just pop some on some kitchen roll and rub it in. Not sure it will stop it getting dirty but sure will make it look lovely and clean :)

I was wondering if anyone can tell me the best way to clean out the cat litter tray please?

I currently empty out all litter once a week and leave to soak in hot water with bleach, then make sure I rinse it well so that my kittys don't ingest it. Someone told me that I shouldn't be using bleach, was wondering if there is something else I can use? And is it ok to use bicarb in the litter to reduce smells instead of "proper" litter freshener??

    Thanks

I do my tray (well not mine, the cat's) twice a week and first empty all the litter, then I rinse out with cold water using the outside tap. I then soak in hot water with a touch of washing up liquid and some disinfectant. I then rinse out with plain hot water and allow to dry before refilling. :o

My wok has gone rusty, and the recommendation in my cookbooks are to use cream cleaner - only I've not got any (Stardrops convert) and would rather avoid having to shell out on something I won't use again

Has anyone got any other recommendations? Thank you!
