Nuts do go off -they get rancid . But I think it would be pretty obvious if they had gone off. If they're still OK, the best place to store them is the freezer.0

I assume it's the same as cleaning sterling silver/white gold - this is how I clean my white gold/sterling silver:-
Place a piece of foil in the bottom of a non-metal bowl (I use tuppaware type thing). Add some Soda Crystals. Add hot water. plop in the jewellery onto the foil. You should see tiny bubbles and fizzes as it works.
Wait about 5 mins, rinse under the tap and either dry with a soft cloth or put back in for a bit longer. You can also scrub gently with a toothbrush if it's bad.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Hi there,
I'm sure the answer is glaringly obvious but is there a quick way to locate certain topics? I'm always searching for recipes and know in the past there have been baking threads but I can't seem to find them. I've been doing a forum search with keywords such as baking, recipes and so on but no luck can you help?
Thanking you in advance0 -
Morning everyone - can anyone help me with a 'foolproof' guide to making an omelette - I can't get it right, never cooks through properly, or sticks, or burns at the edges before the middle is cooked. I also have quite a phobia about frying on the hob and at the slightest smell of burning or sight of some steam or crackling noise - I abandon it anyway....is there anyway of making them in the microwave? Thanks in advance for your help!If Life Deals You a Lemon - Make Lemonade!! :j0

Morning, mutantk! DS ha an omelette every morning, so I have plenty of practice :rotfl: :rotfl: I use a non-stick pan, slug of veg oil in the bottom, and get this hot. Meanwhile, whip the eggs. Add them to a hit pan, then turn the heat down, and allow it to cook. Once it' nearly cooked, ease around it to free it from the pan - it should then slide around freely. I like mine still slightly runny, then fold in half before serving. DS likes his cooked through, and not folded

A few months ago, the search facility thingy was upgraded, and the default setting was changed to *1 month*. That means that only threads contributed to in the last month were earched, which often isn't long enough.
To get round this:- Select *search*
- Select *advanced search*
- In *search options* select the timescale you want
- At the bottom of the blue box select *reset fields*
If that doesn't work, shout up, and someone might have a better suggestion
