Dotmatic, my brother hired a steam cleaner when he moved house. It brought the carpet up like new.

Hi, planning my supermarket trip and thinking that if I can freeze milk then I can buy it cheaper at the supermarket than in the local corner shop. Does anyone freeze milk? Any downsides? (sorry if this has been asked before but I couldn't find it when I tried searching) Thanks

I live miles from a supermarket and always keep milk in the freezer. I buy the 4 pt skimmed milks, give them a good shake then freeze. Thaw out at room temp (I have started them off using defrost in microwave) and give a good shake before using.

Thanks for that -I think I'll give it a go with one container next trip. At least I now know it's go yellow when frozen, and may separate! As long as my coffee tastes fine I'll be happy!

Whenever Cravendale have their offer of 2 for £2. we always buy the quantity that the freezer will stand and freeze, keeps for 3 months,(maybe longer), in the freezer, just be careful when defrosting, not all containers can stand the freezing process without splitting.

Re the milk issue, we use long life skimmed milk (tetrapack). Probably not much good if you drink milk alone but fine for tea, cereals etc. Good to have in as a backup at any rate. It's also available in semi skimmed and whole milk. Skimmed is 38p a litre in tesco (value). Dates on it are usually three or more months ahead.
