You can boil drumsticks. In fact, Peg Bracken (I Hate to Cook, I Still Hate to Cook) says you can simmer them for 20 minutes from frozen.
Just putting them in water means they won't be as flavourful as other cooking methods, but if you're then putting them in a sauce that shouldn't matter too much, should it?
Fresh ones might cook in 45 minutes too: or the whole thing might not dry up if you gave it an hour.

Another chicken question please.
I bought two packs of chicken legs and thighs (BOGOF) use by date is 8th May.
My intention is to freeze them in batches of 4 and defrost as needed in the fridge.
My question is, how long can I keep them frozen for?
The instructions say 1 month
The picture instructions on the freezer says 4 months
A website I looked at yesterday (british chicken) or somthing like that says 9 months for raw portions.
So I thought I'd ask you kind peeps :T0 -
How do you stop it from being "heavy" as so many people has described, and therefore being a reason to stop using their breadmaker to make loaves of bread???
What makes it different from shop bought?I wanna know!!!

I know my BM instruction book has a page explaining what each of the 'minor' ingredients does, and another page for troubleshooting. So if your bread is heavy, you might be able to improve it by adding more of this or less of that.
also there is a whole thread devoted to bread and BMs, I'm sure there is, where the experts will give their advice ...Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

I find that if I use all *brown* flour (as recommended in my BM book) it's *heavy*. So I use half and half white and brown. Doesn't last too long here

I wouldn't worry about saving them in the freezer for 6 months. If you're concerned at that point, you can defrost, cook, and freeze that.
I'm sure that there are some OSers who've lived to tell the tale after eating poultry that's been frozen for years :shhh:

Hi
not really an OS question, but I didn't get my email this week. 1st time it hasn't come and I'm bereft. Anyone know what I should do?0 -
Check your spam folder? Or if you are using OE - doesn't it have a sort of "bulk email" folder kind of thingy where it puts emails that you get quite often?Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there.
