Does anyone know how to get burnt milk off a stainless steel saucepan please?
I've tried soaking and scrubbing. Most of it has come off but not all of it.

    Thank you!

I have a recipe that needs 15g of fresh yeast however I only have dried (Easy Bake and Dried Active). How much dried yeast equals 15g of fresh yeast?
    Thanks

I always forget.... thank goodness it is written on the back of my pack of fast action dried yeast :

"when converting recipes, one sachet of fast action dried yeast is equal to 15g of fresh yeast or 7g of ordinary dried yeast."

So I would take that to mean you need 7g of ordinary dried yeast to convert your 15g of fresh yeast.......

I bought marscapone and sundried tomato risotto (reduced £1.99 to 50p) at Sainsburys on Saturday night thinking I could freeze it (I couldn't!). It's use by 6 May. Anyone got any views if I could have it for lunch? I will try the smell test but I know that rice can be dodgy and not sure if smell would pick it up?

I reckon it might just be ok, only 2 days after all.......

I scrub the bottom with some bio washing powder, add a little water and simmer on the hob. This should work and it makes the house smell like you've been doing loads of laundry.;)

Well I just ate the risotto and no ill effects so far. I have to say it is delicious just in case anyone else spots it reduced!

Has anyone ever frozen Queenie's meatloaf cooked? And did it work well? I made two, one of which we had tonight, really gorgeous. DH and DS's said the best they've had, far superior to M&S;) In her recipe I see Queenie says you can freeze it raw, but my meat had already been frozen, so that wasn't an option. If there's any doubt I'd rather just keep it in the fridge and have it again on Friday :D TIA

Please could some kind person remind me how to use bars of soap in alternatives ways to make washing powder/gloopy washing liquid? I read somewhere about grating it into flakes, but then what? Is there a recipe? Or can you just bung the flakes you've made directly into your machine? (Apologies if I've put this in the wrong place, I couldn't work out how to start a new thread)

    Hi veggienorah,

Queenie's recipe for homemade laundry powder is here and there's a link to the recipe for Laundry gloop in the first post on this thread.

If you take a look in Sra's Unofficial A-Z there's a step to step guide that should help with starting new threads.
