1 Register
Only registered users can post on Moneysavingexpert.com. If you haven't registered yet, you can do it here.
(Note - Registering for the Money Tip is not the same as registering for the forums)
2 Search
It might be a good idea to search the forums first to see if the topic you're interested in has already been covered. This is also a good way to find out which board is the best place for your thread by seeing where similar threads have been posted in the past. (Click here for help searching).
3 Creating a Thread
When you've found the board that most fits your subject, simply click New Thread at the top-left of the board's index:

You will be taken to a text box where you can write the first post of a new thread.
You can change the kind of text box to one with more formatting controls by clicking here, but the basic editing box is fine for simple posts.
Choose a title that describes your thread and type the contents into the main box:

Underneath the text box, there are several Additional Options you can choose from (see below). The most important one is Thread Subscription where you can choose how you would like to be notified of replies to your thread. (You can change the default for this - see Subscriptions Guide)
You can Preview the post or just submit it straight away:

4 Your Posted Thread
When you first submit your new thread, it will appear near the top of the board you posted it on (underneath the "Sticky" posts):

You can find all posts you have made by going to your Subscription List - available by clicking Quick Links and selecting Subscribed Threads
