  • Hi can I join please? We have only just got engaged and decided we want to get married in August next year. Other than that, we havent done anything! :-S

We do know that we want to get married in Scotland, near OH's family...we live in England, 400 miles away!

I feel like there is so much to do but I haven't a clue where to start. I need a list of what to do and in what order- anyone know if such a thing exists? A budget planner would be good too......

Lol not at all. Try the wedding magazine websites , they have all sorts of planners available from budgets, to guest lists to tick sheets of things you need to get sorted in what month. Good luck:-).

    Hysterical no, excited yes.
Have you read the thread The Great Wedding Planner started by Mrs Tine? There's also a wedding tips thread, both are "stickied" so they stay at the top of the first page of the board.
Its worth looking at other month's threads to see what people have done/have left to do.
(I'm actually a June 2013 Groom, wandering round the other threads to borrow ideas)
Congratulations and good luck with it all.

So now I am feeling a bit more organised, which is good as the date has moved forward 5 days to the 25th!

Have now bought and collected my dress
Have veil and potential shoes (may change my mind on the shoes)
Finally bought H2B his engagement ring http://www.amazon.co.uk/Blue-Chip-Unlimited-Tungsten-Engagement/dp/B0082B5UK4/ref=sr_1_3?s=jewelry&ie=UTF8&qid=1345196635&sr=1-3
    H2B wedding ring bought
Provisionally booked venue, parents seeing it tomorrow then can make it final

Next big thing are the caterers, anybody used any decent budget ones near Glasgow?
Saving for wedding 25 August 2013
    £1,090/£6,000

Bought my dress last weekend! Didn't think it was ever gonna happen to be honest because I hated every one I saw in the traditional bridal shops. H2B also has his suit now and I also bought the felt for my felt flower bouquet on Friday so I finally feel as if I'm getting some movement after a very busy time at work where I've done nothing weddingy
