Lol I know what you mean - It feels like there are so many things to consider doesnt it!

Every time I soeak to my mil I get a bit stressed and they seem to always be talking about OH's gran not making it etc!

Your OH sounds like mine! the band I have found (well its actually one chap, but he does everything himself and is amazing!) is really good value compared to most and all he could say was how expensive it was!

    It certainly feels never ending!

The other night when we sat down to work out a wedding budget and a savings plan he wanted to figure out how much things were and then plan the money, hilariously enough! Even though I'm the crap one with money, I said it would be better to estimate how much we could afford to save and then cost things up! He certainly gave me a funny look then!

I've also been planning the decorations and save the dates but I don't really want to make anything until all the deposits to the venues are officially paid. We're planning to screen print the save the dates and invites! I found some sheer curtains that I'd bought ages ago to make the screens and my ma had a picture frame about the size we want to make them that she happily gave me so that's got me a bit excited!

Hi all, new to the forums and a new August bride too!
We're all booked for Friday 16th August 2013 and so far I've booked -

Caterer (wasn't hard there were only 2 approved caterers and one never got back to me)
Venue (wedding and reception in same place)
    Registrar
    Photographer
    DJ
and sent out Save The Dates yesterday

So al the big things (I think) booked but not looked at a single dress and as I want to make an awful lot of stuff for the wedding (invites, flowers table decorations, buttonholes, cake, bunting etc etc etc) I should probably get started!

Hey ladies! Just realised that this time in 400 days I'll be a married lady! As I imagine most of us will be!

So I thought it would be time for a little update on what we've done. And it's not a lot.

We had the Save The Dates printed and I made up the first prototype tonight, with two others for us to choose from. The first one has turned out exactly as I had hoped, but have a few other ideas to try as well!

We also started the official guest list, which has been easier than I thought. Turns out we don't like that many people, or at least like them enough to invite them for the entire day....

We started a wedding website. All the STD's and invitations will link to it so hopefully we can use it as a planning tool and keep track of the rsvps etc.

And I tried on a few wedding dresses! I fell in love with a couple, but they're not quite right individually. I love the layering of this dress but the length of this dress! Trying them on was definitely an eye opening experience! According to the lady at the shop, I have a size six waist but size twelve hips.... Which I'm taking with a pinch of salt! However I do think a bit of weight loss may be required... I saw a bit of back fat and I was not impressed :rotfl:
I decided, and it was agreed, that I don't need all the 'bling' as I'm quirky enough (I'm a pink haired bride!) although I do love these shoes which are surprisingly comfortable, if a little bit too expensive!

How are you all getting on?

    Hi,
I'm getting married on 8th August 2013, so thought i'd join the thread. You all seem very organised and make me think I better get my finger out. We are having a destination wedding in Jamaica. We have booked the venue and the photographer as it's the only thing we can't do through the venue. We've also chosen our invites (but not ordered them yet). I can't believe how many of you have got your dresses already- that's next on my list. :)

    Getting Married August 28th 2013!

Been engaged since new years eve/day 2011 (1/1/2011)

Founf my dress after a couple of months, found it on ebay! It is a 1950s vintage lace wedding gown, just had it to the bridal shop to see about alterations, it has a 23 inch waist! and mine is more like 26!

    Booked the church :)
Booked and paid deposit on the reception venue (A castle!!)
Florist friend is doing the flowers
Aunty and Uncle have offered me their wedding car
    Cake chosen and booked in!
Found a photographer, just need to arrange to see him etc

Only a year left, and i'm starting to become a bit overwhelmed, I have no idea really what we do and don't need for the wedding! :(

    Bridal diet: on track :D
    Weightloss: 18lbs/28lbs (Start weight: 11st, Current 9st 10)

    Hi all

I couldn't find this thread! I've not got much to say yet, it all kicks off this weekend with venues and dress shopping, though I have seen a brilliant dress on preloved that is also in budget (instead of being about £1200 new it's on for £300, or another one is just £150).
I had a quiet spell at work, so drafted up the inserts for our invites, and will print them off the next time I am in alone :)
Also found free save the date cards, so will get them once our venue is confirmed, as our date may change depending on which one we go for...

  • H2B and I are going to our reception venue for a late lunch and drinks on Thursday to celebrate our pre-wedding anniversary! Very excited! We went out for my 30th in December but before that I don't remember when we last went out for an evening. Having 3 children really puts a dampner on your social life! lol
