I've got an idea what my save the dates will look like and I've knocked up a rough template on my laptop. Im going to go buy some paper and ribbon samples and spend an evening (or two!) playing around.

Im still not a 100% on my colours though. I really want dusty pink and pale grey but I think it needs something else. Do you think a pale blue will go too?.... or cream? or both?

Its been a week and one day since week set the date with the vicar and 5 days since we decided on a reception venue and paid the deposit. I thought 15 months in advance was ages but I think I've left it quite late in the wedding world. There's so much to do!

Still so far behind everyone else though

I really wouldn't worry! There is no 'schedule' to keep to. It is hard not comparing yourself to other brides though!

The only reason I've booked so much already is because I'm a complete control freak!! Plus I live in a large area with limited resources so dates fill up quickly.

My sister's SD had her wedding date set months before we got engaged (nothing booked) and as soon as we announced our engagement she rushed round booking the vicar and venue. When I said I was going dress shopping in a few weeks she went out and ordered a dress that week. She sees everything as a competition!! (Not that I'm suggesting you're like that for a second!)

We've got appointments with the florist and the venue dressers next week. Really excited about the dressers because OH has just agreed to have a twinkle backdrop :T

Haha crikey it must feel quite competitive if your sister is going through the same process!

I just worry, like you, that things will get booked up and time will fly so quickly I'll forget to get something major organised but your right that I shouldn't worry - ive been sorting out my wedding folder and things are looking more organised now!

Twinkle back drop sounds lush, how exciting! Do you know what flowers you are gonna have? I keep changing my mind!

It's my sister's stepdaughter who we only met a year ago (long story!) so she can do what she likes!!

I keep changing my mind too lol. I think I'm having fuschia pink Gerbera Daisies with either white Gerberas or white roses... not decided yet. I'm going to see what the florist comes up with on Monday.

    This is the twinkle backdrop...

So I've been lurking around this particular board for FOUR AND A HALF YEARS now and today I finally get to announce that I am getting married on the 24th of August 2013! :j

One of the reasons it's taken so long to set an official date is because there are practically zero venues in Kent that are practically blank canvases with beautiful outside spaces and are also affordable. We went to visit both of our favourite venues, one ceremony and the other reception, and they were both available. Which, to me, is a sign.

So we've provisionally booked and will pay the deposits at the end of the week!

I have been waiting for this for sooooooo long, I'm so excited!

I can join this club now! Just booked the registrar time and about to book the venue (though date it held :)) 24th August 2013 for me too! It's only been 6 years since we got engaged. It'll be our 11th anniversary to the date :)

You are all much more organised than me! I need a wedding planner I think.
