Quidco is a cashback company. They give you cashback if you buy any kind of product through them. There are various cashback companies around, Quidco, Topcashback, Greasypalm, Linemypocket, Rrpoints Fivers etc... Quidco and Topcashback are usually the ones that pay the most cashback.

Last year I got £175 cashback just for renewing my car and home insurance...this year I hope to get both insurances for under £100 and bag £370 in the process.

The way they work is that you register with them, whenever you want to buy something you use their link (and only theirs) to buy whatever it is you want. You will pay the full price of it, in my case my car insurance quote came to £201. So I paid £201 with my credit card. Quidco traced my transaction and in March I will be able to claim my £120 from them once they have received it from Lloyds.

They list the different cashback amounts for the different companies. And you can get cashback for loads of different things. Opening a bank account, getting a credit card, searching for things in kelkoo or pricerunner, booking holidays, buying plants, furniture, wine, clothes... usual things.

Not too many saying what cars they're insuring or at least which insurance group they are.

I can't get lower than £430 for protected fully comp with legal cover. 5yrs ncb. 0 claims or convictions. ins group 13. 33 yo married male. held license for 16 years. I thought the 2.5td Merc might have something to do with it, so I tried the same quote with a punto. That was only £60 cheaper.

My conclusion is it MUST be down to my postcode.

No miracle sub £100 premiums for me then. Good luck if you can get one.
  • Ok here goes...

1 yr old Renault Clio 86bhp diesel, insurance group 3
    Renewal was £240+

I've gone through Quidco to Prudential Insurance and paid £184. Quidco cashback is £95, so in effect my year's comprehensive insurance with protected no claims and £200 excess works out at about £90.
I just wish I'd known about Quidco before!

Still chuffed with that. (A year's road tax is only £35 too, what a car!)

    Cheers :j
  • Never written in a forum before but felt I had to share good news using confused.com.
I've got an 11 year old RAV 4, renewal with insure was £323.67, went onto confused.com and cheapest was about £177.00 but with somebody I had never heard of. Post Office seemed to be next cheapest from a "well known" company at £223.43 with same excess/legal etc. Phoned insure and told them and they came back with £219.06.
  • Very happy punter here!!!

Renewal from Direct Line - £280 ish

Via Quidco & Prudential - £78!!!!! (Free Green Flag cover & protected NCB)

    Superb!

PS Female, 34, Ford Focus TDI

    :DI SHALL be debt free!!!!!:D
  • Received a quote of £346, from my present insurer, Saga. Used confused.com and they came up with an exact match to Saga of £244. Phoned Saga and they have matched the quote of £244. Brilliant & thanks. :j
  • Hi there
Here we go again Renewal s come through again.
I just go online get a few quotes(use this martins site for a quote comparison) i then ring my insurance company moan a bit tell them i have had cheaper quotes (always give them a insurance company name& quote).
they then do a recallcalation and BINGO a new cheaper quote.
Ithink they just try it on and hope noboby rings back.

£800 FULLY COMP for a group 19, 4.4 liter bimmer 740 from bell not bad for a 28 year old who had only passed hi test 2 years ago and only 2 years ncb

    1) Online quote suggested £143(Basic 3rd Party F&T,old small runner), after followingup with insurer it increased to £152.(no good reason, the fact i notified the insurer of an incident which was never claimed for, eg criminal damage theft attempt ). So the quotes are not always reliable. Sometimes a hotlink to webserver to pay may be better.

    2) Post office took over a month to send vouchers in the previous year, but they did come through.

    3) i need to check out this quidco.. .

competition and the net are good thing.

For me all quotes were at least £100 more than what I paid to begin with. Even my own insurer came up over £300 more on confused.com
