Oh and anyone who says fold up a buggy on the bus while holding a baby who hasn't actually tried it needs to !!!!!!. It's hard. A bit of common decency and respect for others space is whats needed. Maybe we need more buggy and wheelchair space as it sounds like theres not a lot.
All this makes me realise just how amazing mine and my O/H's Grand Parents were, 6-7 kids, with O/H's GPs the two youngest being twins, in the blitz and in a 2 up 2 down terrace in London with an outside toilet and Grandad off to war, rationing and devastation everywhere. Now that's stressful Motherhood!:eek:Always get a Qualified opinion - My qualifications are that I am OLD and GRUMPY:p:p0 -

In my experience (and mentioned earlier on this thread) the driver will hold your baby for you whilst you fold the buggy."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -

Your baby would have to be very small to fit through the cash slot of the safety screen on a Glasgow bus.The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

LOL! The driver can open the door!"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
Personally it seems a bit silly.
I am thinking if a wheel chair comes into a bus, the busses have wide isles. so the wheel chair can stop and put his hand brake on.
As for putting the pram away, surely this is likley to be more inconveinite as closing the pram and then reopening and looking after the child at the same time is more difficult and longer. some people do have them closed and put them in the side when entering.
Busses tend to have a seating order.
front of the bus people with prams and elderly,
upstairs bad people
Why and how do people use them, they smell like pee, and have soo much advertisements, trains are better and cheaper in my experience.
and taxi's are as good as driving nowadays0 -

Kind of defeats the object of the safety screen then doesn't it?The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

I've done it, my friends have done it, my family have done it. If taking your child on a bus is so very difficult for you, maybe you could consider walking? or waiting for a less crowded bus?
