Having sex with someone whose on benefit

Since this thread was a source of amusement for so many at the time I thought I would update it. We declared our relationship to the benefits people and they just ignored us. After about 3 months of sending letter/emails they finally contacted to collect details. i.e. how long we been living together, how long we'd been in a relationship etc.
By this point we were very spooked as they had not stopped our benefits for 3 months and we were definetly in a relationship for that time. Then recieved a letter for something else, which said if we didn't return it in 14 days our benefit would be stopped. Fearing prying into the previous nature of our relationship and just wanting the benefit payments to stop, we failed to return the form and the benefit payments were duly stopped.
Without the stress and our new found happiness, we are now like a pair of bunny rabbits.0 -

Can you get DLA for premature ejaculation?0

If the person is the OP is having sex with is claiming for asthma or CFS doesn't having sex make them a benefit fraud? I think The Sun should do an article on them showing pictures of them on the "job"0

Don't worry about it AT ALL!! End of the day the DWP don't know when or when you didn't get into a relationship with whoever you're in a relationship with!
And as far as they're concerned if you ring to say you're now dating someone, as far as they know it could literally be from the day you've informed them of it! Seriously how could they prove otherwise? Unless you got on the phone and said by the way been shagging this fella for 3 months and now we want to declare our relationship as it's progressed to something more than sex.
Seriously it was never something to worry about as they can't ask you to prove or disprove anything regarding your relationship, I mean what do (or would) they want, a signed confession from you saying yes I admit it I started dating this man 3 months previously here's the proof pictureslol.
Don't worry about it, it was never something to worry about
And they couldn't 'do you' <
no pun intended lol, for benefit fraud as you haven't committed benefit fraud! Trust me if they even suspected you of benefit fraud they'd have 'had you' by now chortle0 -
Such a funny thread.......Who needs a partner when you have lodgers like that. Sex with benefits sounds good to me.0

Having sex when you have CFS wouldn't make you a benefit fraud if you only did it once every couple of months due to extreme exhaustion, but if you have CFS and are at it like rabbits and claiming benefits for said CFS then something might be amiss (depending on your symptoms of course).

I have a lodger who is on benefit and occasionally we have had sex, however over time we have gradually fallen for each other and now want to declare our relationship. As a higher rate tax payer I know that he will not be entitled to benefit anymore.
What we want to know,is that when we declare our relationship will we be accused of being in a relationship previously (we have been living together for a year) and hence have been committing benefit ? How do we prove we wern't previously in a relationship ?
you could risk keeping quite about it but then if you want to be honest i think they would only be interested when the relationship started i.e when you decided to be a couple imo you don't need to be a couple or i na relationship to have sex lots of peopel have one night stands and they aren't i na relationship with the other party.0
