    Ok something wrong here ....

I do not believe that you have a contract at the moment ...Reason is...Vodafone porting has to be done at the point of sale. So if they have processed the contract then its too late to port....

I think what they done is made sure you passed printed off the contract for the credit reference number and left the phone and the agreement for you to finalise.

You have 14 days to cancel your new contract. Im not too sure how it works with a PAC transfer but if u cancel your PAC the contract will be void. Hence why they keep the phone in store when porting with vodafone as they do not give a temporary number, which means if they were to release the handset then the shop would have given a phone but no contract connected so they keep it in store till its connected.

However if you have not given a PAC then they probably havent done a contract yet, you can go in and tell them u want to cancel as you have thought it through and would like to cancel....

I work for phones4u so i think, what they did is to make sure you come back they made it look like you was tied in and just tried to give you a reason to go back ....However i maybe wrong so just go down and see whats going on.
  • I'm in the process of migrating my two O2 contracts to orange via what I believe to be a reasonably good deal offered by phones4u [free nokia n95 clearance, dolphin 35, 12 months, 300 mins and 400 texts, £105 cashback, and £50 quidco. This is a deal that has been mentioned here before, including quidco it works out at £22/month or £265/year].

The crux of the matter is that I want to port my numbers to Orange. Since you can only do this - after the point of sale - by calling Orange, I fear that this may provide phones4u with a suitable reason for declining my 2x £50 quidco cashback.

Am I wrong to believe that?
  • I am off to uni shortly and would like to change to a contract mobile phone deal. I have been looking on the internet and there appear to be some really good deals available...

On the Phones 4 U website, there seems to be the best deal around but also it does seem too good to be true!!!

A Samsung D900i is available on a 12 month contract at £40 per month with 500 minutes and 500 texts but with 11 months free. Claim forms are apparently supposed to be issued at quarterly intervals for you to send back to receive your chequeback after these periods. In effect, over the course of 11 months the customer would receive £440 chequeback and would only pay £40 for the final month. Does anybody know if these claim forms are actually sent and paid to customers? Is this a really good deal (perhaps relying on many people forgetting to claim) or is it all just a con??!!!

    Thanks for your help!

Does anybody know what they mean by the following

"To qualify for your Chequeback, you must:
      • Have a live contract with the network you were connected to at the time you purchased your qualifying contract handset and tariff "
It sounds like they mean you should already be on the network of the new handset and network that is on offer. That cant be right :S
