Its loaded but says some updates were not installed, and I must visit the microsoft update website...do I just log into this and click `updates`. Still scared I might mess it up.0

OP if you have the trial version already installed why remove this and then download from the link from software4students.
if the trial is the same version, their shoud be an activation link within the trial menu (this is to allow you to purchase or activate this to full version), so all you would need to so is open this and then add your activation code you have from software4students and this should make the trial full version0 -

Not a problem, just follow their instructions. Updates are normal. I expected it to install SP1 from the Updates folder, but either way, it all seems fine.
Did you enter your Activation Code?
I could have linked you to a combined file, but I wanted to be sure that you received and installed the correct file.0 -

Hi..you are going to think I`m really dim (I think you might know that already) - I didn`t know that was there! downloading as I type. Thanks again.0

Glad you managed to do it. You're not dim, there are lots of us non-techie's on here, but luckily there are some good and very helpful techie's on here too.0

Hi, everything is so scary when you are not sure what you are doing and if what you are doing is right!! I agree some great technial help here when its needed.
Thanks again, everything seems to be working great.
My next quest is finding a new laptop for my daughter for Xmas so I`ll be back when I`ve looked at a few....0 -
I wish I had read this post before I ordered my 64bit version. I have used Software4students in the past and was well pleased.
This was for my daughters Windows 7 64bit laptop. I assumed that a 64bit laptop needed the 64 bit version of Office and opted for that.
As mentioned earlier it only comes as a download so I had no choice but to get that.
DD has tried it twice and each time it tells her that her system is 32bit and the software is 64 bit and refuses to go any further.
Just to reassure ourselves we have checked which system she has on her laptop several different ways and it always comes up Windows 7 64bit (which we knew it was).
Regarding customer service I'm sure it's alright if you can get through. DD tried for over an hour one day with no luck. In the end she emailed them.
The 32bit dvd would have been so simple had I known.I'm Glad to be here... At my age I'm glad to be anywhere!!
I'm not losing my hair... I'm getting more head!!0 -

The error you are getting makes no sense. The first thing the installer does is check the architecture you are installing on. Where are you checking the version of Windows 7? Can you post a screen shot?
Were you given a product key? If so, you can still download the 32bit installer and just use the product key from your 64bit one.
TakeThis has even linked to it directly
