please take a big huge deep breath.
you have so much to be proud of.
So you got into a mess - the point is that you are trying to fix your financial position - that is something to be so proud of. No-one on here will tell you it is easy, because it isn't, but things will get better.
Taking the plunge and trying to sort out things is the hardest step. Especially as banks and cc companies try to bamboozle us with silly language and figures that aren't easily calculated by us mere mortals!!!
Perhaps the lady on the phone was having a bad day too - perhaps she is just horrible but at least you made that call. And I am sure that not everone in the call centre can be that harsh. If you aren't following the person ask to speak to the supervisor/manager and ask them to go over it with you.
I know lots of mser's who noe treat their debt as a challenge. They get a 'high' from paying off another few pennies from their debt. it si a very positive way to look at things.
anyway - just wanted to say i was following your thread and have a lot of faith in you. I wish i was able to admit my mistakes so honestly. that is something to be truely proud of - and a great example to set your family.r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
I am forever grateful to all this support something money cant buy x0

Think that's one of the reason's why this site is so popular.
It's like one big happy family .... and we're all working and helping each other to find our lights at the end of our tunnels, no matter how much debtwe're in or the circumstances it took to get us there.

Hi Everyone. I wanted to ask a question. Again!
I opened an a & l bank acct a week ago. I have a 500 free overdraft for 12 months
As you know I have a 5400 and a 3500 od with tsb which I dearly want to pay back.My salary goes in to lloyds.
What is the best option to leave it going into lloyds or transfer it to a & l (and just pay od like a bill or will lloyds demand i repay it in full if I do this)
I am just think physcological positive balance thing
Thanks, I am finding it all to much in my head still x0 -
Hi MU.
I can't see any real benefit of changing where your money gets paid into but, it does make sense to transfer £500 to your A&L account as you won't pay any interest on this for 12 months. Therefore you save a bit of interest on your other OD's. It's not alot but as the old saying goes;
Look after the pennies....................!0 -
I know it is pennies will save me 7.50 in interest to tsb if i do this....I think I may do it. Only thing is it mite stress me as to being another debt...which I have to pay back in 12 months ...maybe i should leave it... I just dont know....I think the problem is my debts are quite huge individual ones...I will think...I will definitely leave my salary where it is for the time being...I manage to keep it all in my account for 10 days next month before it is sucked away...
thx0 -
I could pay my min payment on my cc for next 5 months and then pay more from my salary to my od .... that would be quite a good way ...0

It's not really another debt though. It's just putting it elsewhere. It actually displays control and that you are now making your money work for you and not the other way around. You are regaining control!0 -
this would let me throw appx 400 to my 5400 OD after interest...so in 5 months that would be down 2k and my card would be down 5000
