Hi MU, I hope the house move went well for you today.

Remember that we do not see you as a whinger. NOT AT ALL. We care about you and what you are going through and if there is anything we can do to help - rant at, shout at, whatever, then you will find us more than willing to be on the receiving end.

After all, there may (no, I guarantee there WILL) be times when we need to rant, cry, whinge etc and you will be there to help us through too.

Anyway, have a good weekend unpacking! Make sure you know where the kettle is

  • HI chick, hope the move is going as well as can be. You must be knackered today, Hope you have help with moving. You have the main thing out though it sounds like. Your comp. Dont forget the things you dont need in your new home get rid on e.bay or sell elsewhere. Also anything you do need for house look on freecycle.com. They have loads of stuff on there for the home including stuff for kids etc. why pay for stuff when other people are giving it away. Its worth a thought. Love and hugs to you all. xxxxxxxx

How good is that. Having seen so many folk posting all over the place tonight, I wonder how the pubs are coping. Cos nonoe can possibly be out drinking. WE are all here. More money saving then eh. xxxxxx

Hi MU...just wanted to add my support to your journey. It's going to be a long one (like mine!) but you've made the first step. And that's the main thing!

Houses aren't built instantly - you have to build it one brick at a time and that's how we view getting rid of debt - brick by brick until eventually it's finished and done with.

You sound like an incredibly brave, strong woman who has gone through some extremely trying times that I cannot even begin to imagine. Yet not only have you lived those times, you have come through to the other side determined to gain control again.

NO ONE blames you for where you find yourself now. Not one of us on this board didn't join because we were concerned at our spiralling costs and not one of us didn't find an enormous amount of people ready, willing and able to offer as much support, advice and virtual hugs at every opportunity.

You have a wonderful family - 2 boys who love you very much and a fantastically supportive partner who will all help in their own way to see you through this time, whether they know the details or not.

Definitely make an appointment with the doctors to talk over your depression - they see hundreds of people with similar problems every month, so please don't feel ashamed or embarrassed. It's like having a smear test - we're all lying there thinking of England and desperately trying to think of anything but the complete stranger and his cold speculum and the doctor is thinking of re-painting his garden gate, or wondering what's for tea that night. Yes it's an appointment of emotional discomfort, but it's soon over and that's another step taken on our journey.

You will get through this and you will be a stronger person for yourself and for your family.

Huge hugs and hope that you're settling into your new house.

Welcome, as you can see you get lots of support. you've made the first move now, so little steps so you don't get overwhelmed. Please, go and talk to your GP, depression is a killer. Have you had counselling, bereavement therapy? If not go. Blowing the comp etc, was just a symptom of the illness, remember that,it's not you.
Can you let us know the APR's on the debts etc, that way we can have a look and see what people can come up with?
    Thanks
