messedup wrote:thankyou...you are so extremely kind , it makes me feel really sad that people are so kind where what I have done is involved.
You're like a bloody brick wall woman! :wall:
OK, you suffered (are suffering) from depression which caused you to run up debts. How you did it isn't important. It wasn't anything illegal!
Me. Not depressed. Ran up £34,268 of debt! So how does that make me feel? Should people not be nice to me?
Sure there are plenty of a$$holes in the world who would put me down and tell me what for. But on here it's different. We are all in the same boat. The cause isn't an issue. All we care about is becoming debt free. You have people from all walks of life (I'm sure there are even some aliens on here the crap they come out with :rotfl: ) who are in debt for many different reasons. Be it overspending, addictions, depression, ill health, greed, failed businesses.
But it doesn't matter. We are all in the same debt boat and the only way to get to the debt free shore is to pick up a paddle and help bloody row!0 -

Do you know what I've got to show for it?
A car worth about £5,000 if I'm lucky!
What else?

Hey Messed Up. I just wanted to write something, as i felt compelled to let you know you're not alone - as this thread shows. I guess no-one will ever understand what you're going through emotionally, but i'm sure we all know how you feel financially, otherwise we wouldnt be here!
I'm just glad that you posted,so now you can get some help and a hell of a lot of support.
Good Luck with everything and I'll keep poppingback to see how you're doing.0 -
OK we need a bit more info about the debts. What are the minimum payments on the credit cards each month? What are the credit limits and who are they with? And if you have last months bank statements how much were you charged in interest on your overdrafts?
As for the loans, what is the term, when they started/due to finish and APR's and how much were they for?
Credit card (18% APR) - £5,400
Overdraft (18% APR) - £5,400
Overdraft (18% APR) - £3,500
Credit card (16% APR) - £3,500
Loans - £20,000 (£341 p/m)0
