No yellow ball here either....very wet and miserable. I went to let the chickens out and it really started to lash down, so I waited for a bit in the laundry/chicken food store round the back, and thought to myself I could be in here a long time if I wait for this to stop, so I had to brave it in the end!
My turn to drive DS to the bus stop this morning too, so had to gather my wits earlier than I'd like, and also 'everything' day for the bin men...I do love the days they take ALL the rubbish (every other Thursday) I feel positively purged
Already done one load of washing (while waiting in the laundry LOL) and emptied the dishwasher, rinsed some pans that needed it, and cleaned the sink.
Want to do some sewing today....so will do that first. Everything else that 'has' to get done will at somepoint, but if I leave the sewing til later I'll get sidetracked by boringness.
Could do with a run into town, but not so badly that I'll get wet! A NSD would be nice, but unfortuantely having the internet means I can stray without leaving the house...:rotfl: Might have a poke around for some Christmas Pressies later!

Curses! The yellow ball has landed here again today and I have RUN OUT OF WASHING.
I managed to find my motivation yesterday (little rascal was hiding under the sofa) and managed to do all our washing.
I also did half of the remaining decorating, a month's meal plan and a shopping list for this weekends trip to Costco for the winter stock-up.
Today the last of the decorating beckons invitingly.......I'd so love to get it finished at last.
I think I might strip the spare beds first and get the bedding washed just so I can hang something on the line to dry. I'm getting addicted to this OS lifestyle, how sad is that?0 -

My parents' cat likes to lick the water off your legs when you get out of the shower. It's a good incentive to keep the door firmly shut no matter how she yowls.
Sadly I'm going to have a most un-OS day today: I didn't have time to make a packed lunch this morning so I'll have to buy something; I'm going out this evening so I won't have time to make the meal that was on my plan; and I'll have the cost of going out tonight as well.
No yellow ball here today, either, BTW - and someone's just switched on the sprinkler system, too.Back after a very long break!0 -
GQ - I add much less liquid to sc meals - but I also reduce sauces down on th ehobb after - I made raost pork and the juices were very inspirid but a hard boil for 5 mins reduced it to a lovely tasty gravy.
No yellow ball here - p-ing down and oddly warm!

Well, it's absolutely throwing it down here so I won't be stripping the sheets to make up a white load. We'll just have to stink a bit longer
.
I really, really, really need to clean my bathroom and downstairs toilet today, they are decidedly unsanitary for some reason. Unfortunately, I cut my left index finger really deeply last night (those magic knives, they're really, really good at cutting everything). Hence I can't do it. I can't do anything with my poor finger, yelped loads when I had to zip my jeans this morning. I had to get DD to come and help me with my finger because I couldn't stop it bleeding for long enough to get a plaster on it. So there I am yelling up the stairs for her to come down. Down she stomps "WHAT!" and I showed her my finger. "Oh!
Are you alright, what do you need me to do? I don't like blood
". Bless her, she got out the roll of plaster and cut me off a big chunk. Still couldn't get the bleeding to stop so let her go whilst I kept hard pressure on it. We've no superglue in the entire house either. Really, it needs something but it's together for now. I didn't have time to go off to ED to get it sutured so it'll have to do. It's swollen though
.
My lovely sister was doing some trial knitting for a friend of hers who had some new yarns to showcase. She made up some tea cosies was going to give me two of them. Our other sister was lusting after the shocking pink/ turquoise one so we let her have that one and I have a dusky pink and purple one which goes very well with my dining room wallpaper. It's getting it's first outing today and I must say, I'm very impressed. She's an excellent knitter.
Really, I ought to be finishing off knitting my cardigan. I've got one sleeve left to go and about 10 rows of the cuff on the other sleeve but again, with the finger, can't knit.
Today will mainly be sent on the sofa feeling sorry for myself nursing my cold and my poorly finger. Hopefully I can figure out how to get Kirstie up on the telly rather than having to watch it on the computer though.
Mr T's have got all of their baking stuffs on 3 for 2 (not sugar though) so I bought 9 bags of flour yesterday. It should see me through a fair while.

charlies-aunt wrote: »This is my 'recipe' for sausagemeat pie! It can be varied to use up whatever bits and bobs need using up.
I start by making up a packet of Basics sage and onions stuffing (15p) and mix it well with approx 1lb sausagemeat. (Aldi have 100% British Pork sausages 454g for 65p at the moment which are a clinch to de-skin) Mix in two finely chopped onions and an egg..... and any bits that you want to use up. (finely chopped leftover peppers, tomatoes, leeks, courgettes, chillies etc) and spices that you like, I use black pepper, garlic and soy sauce
Make up shortcrust pastry - 6oz cooking marg, 6oz of lard and 12 ozs of SR flour
Line lipped baking tray with pastry. Pop in the sausagemeat mixture and smooth down - if you have any apples that are past their best - you can de-core them, slice them and lay the slices on the top of the sausagemeat and then pop on the pastry lid - brush with a drop of milk and bake at Gas Mark 5 until golden brown.
Makes 6 very generous adult portions - lovely hot or cold with saladand a great lunchbox filler
Its very cheap (£2 or less) , tasty and endessly versatile - the Aldi sausages are a good cheap buy for this as they are nice & meaty but the tubes of sausage meat that the supermarkets mark down after Christmas are another good buy - I use Basics SR flour and stuffing mix as they are substantially cheaper than the branded versions.
Hope that this all makes sense!
THANKS charlies aunt i will give this a go but will substitute sausage meat for a veggie version and will have to make small ones
just wondering about the cooking time any ideas just as a guide2nd purse challenge no040£0 Sealed pot challenge ???? £2 trolley find not counting small coins till end year0 -
It'll be about 35 to 40 minutes.

I have a sofa that is in fab condition but it is just too big for my cottage. So, the OH has bought me a smaller one for christmas. I have tried everywhere (including freecycle, who are VERY fussy) and no one wants to take it. It is too good to throw away but I could be left with little alternative at this rate. Any ideas?0

Have you looked to see if there's a local charity that will take it? There is one here called 'The Projects' which aim to provide low cost furnishings to those who need them, and they've had some stuff from us (and vice versa!)
I had the same problem, of a sofa we'd ended up with being just too big for the room, but organised a swap with one of my friends! She had my bigger one which she needed and I had the smaller one, and the 8" extra room in my living room makes all the difference!
Otherwise how about a freebie ad in a paper and see if you can flog it?

Hi KT. I have tried the local charities but they must have a fire label attached which it isnt after several moves. I just find it insane that I cant even get rid of it on freecycle either. May put it out the front with free to a good home on it!
It is huge and there is a matching chair (had the same problem with trying to get rid) in the garage. I was desperate for some at one stage but couldnt find any. Now I cant even give the flipping thing away.0
