Hi Everybody.
The sun is shining here & going to go for a walk in a bit.
I've enjoyed reading about all the cat antics. I had a cat a few years ago who scratced me so badly when I tried to get her back in her basket at the vets that the vet had to clean me up with antiseptic wete wipes before I retreated to reception to pay my bill, dripping blood over my chequebook as I tried to write the cheque.
Apart from her hatred of the vets she was as placid as they come.
Made venison casserole in the slow cooker yesterday. Two portions eaten last night & four frozen down. It was lovely & so tender from the long, slow cooking.
Was in Mr T's earlier and all jams etc are on 3 for 2. I love there value marmalade. Only 27p full price but got 3 jars for 54p. You can't buy the jars for that money. Might be any idea for anybody who is looking for cheap jars for their own jam making.
Have a good day0 -
I got a phone call from the catalogue company I use to tell me that if I don't order something from the new catalogue before the end of December I would lose the rewards I had. I don't order much from the catalogue - I've just finished paying for a bed I bought for my DD2, and I'm just paying for some flannelette bedding I bought last year. It was only £17.12, but I didn't want to lose it, so I have ordered a slow cooker - it was £39, reduced to £19, and I'm paying £1.88 for it :T0

Hello Everyone
charlies-aunt the traybake sounds good. Would you mind posting a recipe please?
DH and I have had a few days of feeling bleugh, feeling ill enough to want to stop and not ill enough to justify it.
All the Halloween decorations are still piled on the sofa, so I'm sharing the living room with assorted !!!!!s and skellingtons. I have to say that at the moment they are better company than DH.
After crying my eyes out on Sunday about Christmas and not having a clue about what to get everyone, I finally made a start. So I now have lots of lists and have started shopping around for the best deals. I brought a mounted film cell this morning on ebay for a friend's daughter who loves the film Dumbo. So I'm hoping that it turns out to be ok, but at £4.59 it's not an expensive loss if it isn't.
Does anyone know where I can get a set of crochet hooks in a nice case? My friend Marie has started crocheting and I thought it would be a good present.
The sun is starting to shine here, so I have better go and peg the laundry out. Take care everyone xxx0 -

Off to a good start today...In my e-mail inbox was MSE Martin's Money Tips e-mail, and I clicked on the Tesco points link out of interest, and noticed that there was another link to check that you'd spent all your vouchers... Now being squeaky tight, I was convinced that none would have escaped me, but I decided to check anyway = RESULT £10 from May that must have gone MIA :money: I've also got £30 on the way...so now have to decided what to spend all this lovely loot on!

Thanks so much for this! Just checked mine and I've got £15 from 2 years ago that will expire on the 30th if it's not used, you're an angel :A
I'm not good for much today. My eldest had a nightmare last night, he needed mucho cuddles and eventually went off to sleep. Unfortunately he woke his brother up too and he was more problematic to sleep again. He had me up til 2am, then I remembered we had no bread for eldest's packed lunch. I was the only idiot in tesco at stupid o clock this morning. Baby is having a nap at the moment but I'm fit to drop, don't think I'll be getting much done today.0 -
I would never have dreamed I had any unused Tesco Vouchers but thanks to you I checked and I had one for £5 from 2 years ago about to expire. That will cover a big packet of dishwasher powder - their Daisy brand dishwasher powder is excellent and that is the cheapest anywhere. My dishwasher repair man said always to use powder rather than tablets but Lidl have stopped doing powder.
I'm waiting for my November statement because I save up my vouchers all year in their Christmas Clubcard scheme and I get bonus vouchers as a result. I used to save money as well because if you top up by £100 you get £6 of extra vouchers which is tax free interest. But I dislike Mr T so much that I would struggle to spend that much. I buy shampoo and toothpaste on 3for2, dishwasher powder, and lentils/chickpeas there and that's about it. Hopefully I will get a Sainsbury's till spit for money off before I go there because they accept those as well. My ambition is to get as much useful/storable stuff from them as possible for as little actual cash as I can get away withIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0 -
I'm waiting for my vouchers from Tesco as well as the £50.00 plus £3.00 bonus I have saved with them.
I'll use the money I've saved for day to day shopping & stocking up on offers as Mr T's is only a couple of minutes walk from me so it's my 'corner shop'.
Haven't decided what to use my clubcard vouchers on yet as I don't fancy any of the stuff they have on the 'Double Up' offers.0 -
Thank you! I have checked and have £5.50 more than I thought I had, doubled up thats £10 more to spend on presents. Thanks so much0

(Insert deep Kowtow of respect)
I have spontaneously decided to Do an Experiment. I have placed 2 pork chops (whoopsied for 89p the pair) into the bottom of my slowcooker and covered with a can of Tesco Basics Curry Sauce. I have cooked meat like this before in a low oven in a casserole dish and it comes out pretty yummy but have put Gollum onto "High" and will leave it 2-3 hours and see what happens.
Fingers crossed, shall report back tomorrow. If it works out, I shall have 2 portions to serve with h.g tatties and french h.g. beans from the freezer at about 50p a meal. What's not to like?
You've got me wondering if there are any Clubcard points sloshing around on my account now....must go and check.
Have a lovely evening, even if I have had to do 2 laundry loads without a drop of sunshine to comfort me.........;)Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Ooh that sounds just my thing - have you got a recipe, please?0
