Don't know about original contract as were originally Telewest be came Blueyonder became Virgin.

Have to have Virgin cable as aerial reception is poor round here and being conservation area cannot have external satellites on house front. Only have 10mbs broadband because that is all that is available until they upgrade our region, scheduled for July this year.

Bundle 52pds monthly.

Telephone 13.90pds monthly (don't know size not given).

Would like to get rid of phone but soundings indicate a smaller bundle might not be overall cheaper. Still looks like we are getting ripped off though, probably because they know we have little choice where we live. Increasingly poor choice of tv channels - and mostly they are duplicates of each other e.g. E4, E4+1, E4HD etc etc. running all the same old stuff.

I've only been with VM for 16 months or so. My first 12 month contract was for the following;

Broadband L
TV M+
Phone M

£31.99 per month. I was lucky enough to get £160 Quidco.

At the end of the 12 months I downgraded to just

Broadband L
Phone M

£22.40 per month. 30 day rolling contract.

I now find myself wanting the new Sky F1 channel so today I haggled;

Phone L
TV M+

Sky Sports collection
Sky HD pack

Tivo 500mb

£53.40 per month, £120 credit applied to the account. Effective monthly cost £43.40.

I'm happy.
