Best way to get the Iphone 4S?

What kind of question is it?
http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/shop_iphone/family/iphone/iphone4s
Its a simple question how much does an unlocked Iphone4s cost in USA if it costs £499 on the apple UK website. The reason why I am asking this is as my parents are going to US next month and if it's cheap there then I will just buy from US.
Thanks0 -
For a person having access to the internet such question would make sense if you asked about in-store prices, not "on the website".0
-
Well it does say on apples US site that it's coming out in November carrier free.. but no prices etc etc
Also then you'll have state tax to add on top of that.. and if your folks don't do the proper steps they could get stung for import tax too when they come home...:exclamatiTo the internet.. I need to complain about something!0 -

Instore price is what I meant thnx but thought that the US website will be somewhat similar to the UK one that clearly lists the prices etc ..
would be great to know the In-store price in US .. thnx0 -
In my oppinion the best way to get it is to buy just outright and get a pay as you go sim. Some of these contracts are ridiculous but three has some good offers0

Matt,
I'm struggling to see a better deal than the Voice mobile offer.
Also, somebody mentioned about switching to a low cost carrier after the 12 month Tesco deal, so I thought a full price comparison is needed.
Voice Mobile - 24 months at £30 a month with NO handset cost.
Total over 2 years = £720
Matt - With the extra £3 a month text bundle for you = £792
Tesco Mobile - 12 months at £25 a month + £335 handset cost = £665
THEN assume a £12 (this must be the cheapest?) a month switch to a cheap sim deal = £144
Total over 2 years = £809.
Over this comparison, the Voice deal is still the cheapest even with the extra texts. It also means no big handset initial payout.
Obviously the 12 month deal allows flexibility, but IF you did want to switch phones after 12 months, then the Tesco one is better, but still the cost is VERY high for that 12 month period (£665). You seem a similar person to me, who procrastinates for a long while, dealing with every possibility, before making a decision. As such, a longer contract is great as it makes a longer period until you have to start ALL this over again. ;-).
On a side point, have Vodafone not come back with anything to rival? I'm sending them my e-mail cancellation tomorrow and will then await their great retention offer??
(If any figures are wrong, let me know and I'll edit the post so it may change from reading to reading!)0 -
Buy outright for £499 then 24 months of Talkmobiles £8 sim only plan would be £691.
This gives you 300 mins/500mb of internet/1000 texts on a 6 month contract.
or same but with giffgaff's £10 goodybag would be £739 over 2 years with 250 mins/unlimited texts/unlimited internet.

pcyuljr, thanks for doing that! Certainly makes the Voice deal look very good!
However, I am currently fighting with Orange with regards to their Orange Perks discount of 25% for Police personnel. Some people were able to get the Iphone 4s on this deal, however it depends on your local store on whether they will give it you or not.
The deal would be:
Line rental @ £41 per month, however with a 25% discount it would be £30.75 pm.
Handset Charge - £29.99
300 mins
Unlimited texts
1gb Internet
Total over the 2 years is £767, and in turn you are getting more texts and internet. You can change it to 600 mins, unl txt and only 500mb of internet for the same price.
In the Orange Perks terms and conditions it does say its available on any Iphone. I am currently in the process of dealing with their executive office to get their view of it.
My local store in Solihull wont give me the Iphone 4s atall, but state they will offer it on the Iphone 4 and 3gs and any other mobile phone, but another local store say they will do it me on the Iphone 4s 32gb and 64gb but not the 16gb!!!
As for Vodafone, I have already spoken to them and they are offering nothing at all!0 -
I got my 1st smart phone last weekend, IPhone 4s on 3's the one plan. Am very happy with it so far, unlimited internet, so much so that I have given notice to quit my landline and broadband deal. Works fine both tethered to my laptop, and as a mobile wifi dongle.0

I have had a similar argument with the Orange shop, but a friend's son works for them and he found out the official policy on it.
They will be doing the iPhone 4s with perk discounts, but not until they have more stable stock. They allowed some people to get their perk discount immediately if they had pre ordered the phone. This was because they had not announced they would not be doing perk on the 4s prior to release date, so they have honoured any pre orders and have allowed a perk discount to be applied.
They have been strict in enforcing the policy, and I have been told that they also aren't offering friends and family discount or staff discounts on the 4s until they have more stock.
Personally, I think that is fair enough, and am happy to wait a month or so to get my perk discount0
