ANd suppose you didn't want to update?
I now have itunes 10.5 what the difference between that and the previous version few know, however the previous was working fine, so I had no need to change, and it is not the 1st itunes update that has aoccured in the last 12 months, but as mentioned numerous pop ups to upgrade my 4th gen touch to ios 5.0 -
Goodman, through the thread it seems you are the one making things up, yesterday i connected my ipod touch 4th gen and the itunes did in effect force an update and twice further was pushing to upgrade the device to iOS5, how many times will the software ask if I want itunes to be my default music or whatever? I already said no and no means no! Apple is great but it is not as great as you are trying to make out, each to their own eh?
iOS 5 is meant for 4th gen devices. And a new version of itunes is generally released with every iOS update.
It will ask if you want to upgrade the iOS every time you plug in a device that doesn't have the latest version. It will also tell you you don't have the latest itunes whenever you launch it. I can honestly say I've only once been asked if I wanted iTunes to be my default music library.
Just like flash tells you every time you put your pc on that there's an update until you update to it. Or ATI tells me my graphics driver is out of date when I switch the HTPC on etc. It's the same as most software in that department.
I'm not defending iTunes. In actual fact I absolutely hate it and use it as little as possible because it's a god awful resource hog that has too many upgrades and all take too damn long and well, just bloody annoy me. But update wise, it doesn't do anything different to other software.Sigless0 -

It might ask you if you want to update (though I don't remember this ever happening - each time I've wanted to update my iPad or iPhone I've had to first click a button saying 'Check for updates', then wait for it to download the update, then I've had to click update/install (I can't remember exactly what the button says), I've never had a pop-up in iTunes asking me if I wanted to update), but you would have to click 'yes' surely, it won't just update on its own.
Just seen Rev's post above, he posted as I was writing this, and I wanted to add that I too hate iTunes, it's a terrible piece of software, so slow and irritating to use. But it's never forced me to update the software on my iPad or iPhone.0 -
The titan is a very good phone.
I cannot understand why people slate windows phones all the time, if you look at the features comparable to Android and Apple, then they are all on par with each other.
Windows 7.5 os actually performs a lot better during benchmark tests against Android and Apple. The switching betweens apps and loading, surfing etc. Also neither Android or apple have the facebook/twitter intregration the Windows has
I do believe you should carry out the research yourself when deciding a new handset/os. Do not just follow the crowd.0 -
There's a setting you might want to change on you new pride and joy... by default Siri is enabled when the phone is password-locked.

!!!!!!! Apple is becoming as big a goose as ~Orange !SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0 -
Windows Phone 7.5 update takes the biscuit out of Android & iOS5.....it was a late starter but Microsoft threw everything at it & its way superior, given 4S like the i4 a upgrade from 3GS and my Android experience on a few handsets, Microsoft win hands down.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0

I supposed I should rephrase my sentence. Rather than forced update, they stopped my wife from using iTunes unless she said yes to the update. Not sure whether you want to classify that as being force or considered that a choice was given.
good thing they stopped asking 3g to update to iOS5.... its already dead with iOS4, can't imagine using it with iOS50 -
My Samsung Galaxy S1 was sold at 65% of cost one year later .
The OP and the recent posts suggest to me not somebody that goes out into the market place asks for opinions decides what's best for them . Returns home happy with the purchase and says yes i am glad i bought XXX . What we have here is a constant drip of anti Android posts many of them totally wrong in content .
Its either fish gone off under my keyboard or something stinks regarding this thread .

This is not anti or pro post and I am sure others would have also found it useful. Many people don't know about different os available.0 -

If this was true on google you have many post.
Send me the link otherwise STOP making things up.I'm not bad at golf, I just get better value for money when I take more shots!0 -

You've got variety of opinions from experienced people having phones for a long time.
Four days later, after just "trying three phones" you made your mind and should have stopped at this point.
Instead you started pushing your far too categorical and often factually incorrect opinions like "much better", "smaller", "much bigger", "much cheaper" etc.
Does this look right to you?0
