What phone to go for iPhone 4s , Android , Windows Phone or BlackBerry

Well I can see the appeal of the "ooooh look it all backs up to the cloud by itself" (regardless of the OS) but I'm not happy if I don't have at least 3 copies of everything :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: It's the same with my Kindle books - I don't care that I can re-download down from my Amazon account if needed, I still make sure that I have local copies of the files too
I guess I just don't trust the cloud enough. I do have a !!!!!! account (freebie that came with the TouchPad!) but I encrypt everything that I upload there..

Hi
Got the iphone 4s. One of the best phone you can have. You can upgrade your iPhone to new version of os on the day of release. This is not possible with android, some are still using 1 or 2 version down because no update available. With iphone All backup are in one place, unlike android where you will need to use different software. Th tomtom satnav is also very good again not available for android.0 -
Enjoy
...even if it wouldn't have been my choice of handsetApple would need to pay me to use iTunes :rotfl:

Lets clear things up for your average person...
Think of android as sponge cake, 3rd party manufacturers such as your HTC's, Samsungs, LG etc.... they add their own icing & decoration on top of the basic sponge.
The pros for most people is the wide selection, sizes, shapes & prices of android phones. Something you dont have with an iphone (i personally find the iphone boring looking).
The bad point to this is that when a new software update is released by google... i.e. they add a strawberry layer into the sponge. 3rd party manufacturers have to redo the icing & decorations, which takes time to make sure it looks right and tastes right. So sometimes there is a delay to the update for 3rd party phones.
If people want a true google experience and quick updates then i recommend they stick to the Google Nexus line of phones as this is the standard google phone. The latest one being the Galaxy Nexus
http://www.google.co.uk/nexus/
It has Google's latest software (the sponge now has several layers of chocolate)
Personally i never been a fan of the icing & decorations of 3rd party manufacturers so on all of my android phones so far I have always reverted back to the plain sponge0 -
Good way to look at it. However most people are not into all this. A lot of people like things like simple upgrade, no to remove this, install that, some software will only work with some devices but not other due to size of the screen or older version of os. Some companies are taking far too long to release update. By the time new update is releaes is not the newest update available.
With the iPhone all update are releases at the same time, work the same, app store simple to use. The iPhone may not have the fastest CPU but do most people care?
I can see why apple is selling so many of them. With the android a lot of manufacture need to together to try to sell more phones.0 -

Also remember android is still young, IOS is near enough maturing as an OS. Eventually sometime in the future all mobile phone systems will provide similar functions, Ease of use, simplicity etc...
When it gets to this point the one that will dominate is the one that
provides the most choice0 -

This is the big advantage of the IPhone ethos without a doubt .
Do this do this do this its all relatively simple , backup one choice it works , update one choice it works . Its one phone one operating system user does not need to be any cleverer than dumb so to speak .It is a flaw with Android that the updates can be so varied in deployment even from the manufactures dont mind the network providers . Samsung Galaxy S 2 has had updates since May release in the order of three a month most of those have not filtered down to network provided phones .
Advanced user who wants customization and their own choice of apps and services Android is a winner .
Yes i am and have always been an Android users as i choose not to go down the Apple walled garden approach but it is the better choice for many .

It's not that I am advising you to by this phone or that phone. I see that you have already made your mind. I just try to show you that the logic you use to justify your decision is flawed.0
